Seems this has been implemented in Australia, most likely due to cheaters using micro cameras in chips to see the underside of cards once in a while.

I don't hate it, but I would not want to have to do it on a table with an embedded auto-shuffler.

Just some extra time to load a deck into a shoe. Extra friction on the felt from cards that might cause earlier fading for some brands. Another thingy on the table surface that can block sight lines.

To be honest, I've never seen ink fading from the Copags I own (Elites?). I have seen it on others.

If I were playing stakes that would make it worthwhile for a cheater (and an accomplice) to use a tiny camera and radio system to read the cards, hell yeah, I’d trade an extra 5-10 seconds per hand for this method.

I don't think I'll ever institute this in my nickel/dime game at home, but I'd be happy to see it in a casino/card room. The tech is cheap enough you wouldn't even have to play high stakes for it to be pretty profitable after a session or two.
