More like I created a couple terrible games and tweaked Stampler to the low spade getting half the pot with 2 of spades being the low. This is known as sizzler.

Yes. After every one gets their 5 cards one is turned up in the middle

@Hornet introduced me to an Archie variant called Veronica.

It's regular Archie but with a single face up community card that only plays towards your high hand, cannot be used in your low.

It's fantastic. It increases the action and vastly increases the scoopability.

We have a variant that we allow two community cards: one to be exposed after the initial deal and the other gets exposed after the last draw. Can play for your high and low. We call it "Archie, with help" lol

I invented a new game a couple weeks ago. Only played it with my crew a couple times, when we got short-handed.

Dealing mechanics are identical to Dramaha, except the best Omaha hand splits with the hand with the most Cribbage points.

Obviously you need well-seasoned Cribbage players for this to be fair, but we did and it was pretty fun.

In drunker moments we’ve taken to playing “double deck Scarney” which some of my players love and some despise

2 decks, deal 10 cards. Each street is 3 cards added to both boards (so 9 community cards total), otherwise plays like scarney. Crazy how quickly your hand strength can change.

If we’re talking 7 card stud, these are the games and variants we learned 20 years ago. Brought them back recently. I forgot how much fun these are after playing Hold’em/Omaha variants for 20 years.

Those are my group's favorites.

Another favorite is a variant of English Stud, played hi/lo: First 5 cards dealt as usual stud (2 down, 1 up, 1 up , 1 up). 6th card is a draw where you replace an up card with an up card, or a down card with a down card, or discard an up card while flipping open a down card then draw a down card. Can also choose to stay pat, no draw. 7th card is repeated same as 6th card. So only 5 cards max are held at any one time. Choices players make are interesting along with attempts at disguising their hands. Makes getting a good low hand interesting since drawing a 6th and 7th card can be risky/hard to improve a 5 card low hand. Can also be played with any variant of wild cards if desired (I like low-Chicago).

Near end of night, No Peek Follow the Queen starts making an appearance....wild, gambly game, redistributes chips. OK for us since we play for social fun.
