Could someone confirm? Wondering what they'll do with the old chips...

I pictured it as a beautiful lake in my mind, like a mini Lake Tahoe. I’m assuming it’s not a very nice area?

It was a shit hole back when I lived in the area. Although it's grown and is "nicer" now, it's still ugly and boring. The lake itself has been drying out for years and has shrunk noticeably since our family moved nearby in the mid/late 80s.

I mean, if you like unremarkable strip malls, chain stores, terrible food, and having nothing to do then I suppose it's great! It's also hot as hell and far from any place with decent food and culture.

Wow. They look straight out of the Lake Elsinore Tourism Bureau or Chamber of Commerce or gift shop.

I'm not sure if you've seen DonkFishPoker on youtube, that's his home court, says he'll have video of the new chips in a few weeks

I'm gonna be in Temecula for a weekend soon. Think it's worth a trip to see if any of the older chips are harvestable? (I don't mean racks, just a few chips as keepsakes.) Are any of the other casinos around there (Pechanga, Pala, etc.) worth checking out for the chips while I'm in the area?

Here is a sample of most of the surrounding areas chips. Admittedly not everything nearby, but should give you an idea of where you may want to go.

I might try to make it over to Lake Elsinore this week to check on the new chips there. I can say that the old $1s and $5s there are all really worn out and full of hooker juice!

Sadly heard (second or third hand) that they switched the chips out completely at Lake Elsinore. Unrelated, IIRC Agua and Jamul have some pretty cool snappers.

It was time for new chips there, for sure in my opinion. But if the above design is correct...I'm not a fan of their choice! I'll definitely go grab at least a new $1 soon, though.

Was trying to get a $100 or two there for a while but I didn't push it enough and now there's likely only a handful out there. Hopefully someones bugging them about what they're doing with their old chips :D

No dice yesterday. I snagged a $1 chip for the collection, but the main floor there was not in a position to sell me any old chips. Looks like all of them have been swapped out. Personally, I'm not a fan of the new ones.

I do have 2 of the dealers trying to work some magic for me to get a couple $100s, though. So I may have something by next week. I'll let you know.

my best guess is these chips will end up in the hands of a chips dealer - like pretty much every single other Cali Cardroom that closed or else. Im pretty sure we will see them again
