If you know of any new casinos opening or a casino that just refreshed their chips, please post about it here. Thought it would be a good way to find new chips to harvest if they are worthy enough.

Golden Nugget opening up in December a few hours from me in Lake Charles, LA.

Cool. Will keep an eye out for what their chips look like. Thanks

Good thread. Stupid me, right after hurricane Katrina, I went to the Beau Rivage in Biloxi. It had just re-opened and I went to play in the new poker room there. I noticed the chips were brand new minty Paulsons... it never occured to me to pick up a couple of racks right then and there.

NJ.com reports that the Revel property has been sold to a company that operates 2 other casinos and that they plan to reopen it as a casino. New chips coming soon!

Saw this cool looking $1 chip today. Was issued this year.

There is one on eBay too.

Ho-Chunk in WI Dells recently replaced their RHC rack with ceramics made by GOCC. The $500s are oversized goodness.

I can't find any pics of it yet. Must be too new.

Check the ChipGuide.com - I'm pretty sure I saw some pics on there. There are a bunch of Ho-Chunk listings - I think you want the one in Baraboo (just outside WI Dells).

Bud Jones? I can't tell.

I think you're right.

Agreed, ICON chips. Wish they'd make the chips available to the home market. Right now you can only get 614 pattern white spots. Ugh. I'd buy 2000 chips easy if I could get designs like those above.

Here are the ho-chunk chips made by GOCC...just realized I never posted a link or pics (don't know why some are showing up larger than others...pics of $1 through $100 from the chip guide's website):

And just a few of the oversized $500s :cool::cool:

I usually look for ceramic designs that avoid emulating edge spots on the face of the chip, but I dig those ho-chunks even with the improperly centered denim and dead space above the casino name.

Look like ICON chips to me.

The Cromwell opened with ICON chips and that's supposed to be a high end property now. If the low end Linq has them too then it looks like Paulson's days are numbered at Caesars Properties.

Whoa, what a great chip! I'd love a couple racks of those.

Let's see, who do I know near Carson???

Don't bother. I commisioned somebody (Zombie?) to go there this summer on a two-rack search&retrieve mission, only to find out they just don't exist, at least not at the casino. Details buried in a thread on bluescreen somewhere. Total bummer.

Damn it man that is a awesome chip. Shame it can't be found? That would be a 1000 chip harvest for some one for $20 or .25c labeled RHC to resell.

That deal fell through. The utility co would not re-negotiate the estimated $36 mil annual bill and Brookfield backed out. The next highest bidder ($96 mil?) is thinking about converting the Revel into a university. Good luck with that.

All that should of been included in the bankruptcy. Oh well. :(

Hmm. I had heard that the Showboat had been sold to one of the local colleges, not the Revel.

Like BG said, I tried to pick up some racks of them, but the poker room used these instead:

I did find the beautiful chips, but they were out on the casino floor. I went to the cage to buy (I think it was 5 racks) of them and run, but the cage said you had to get the chips at the table.

The Carson Nugget is not a big fancy casino - The card room had the feel of a home game (the dealers also played), & you got up to get your own drink from the soda machine. The casino felt like the place that social security checks go to die - Nits buy in for $100 tops. The tables probably didn't have more than 100 singles in the dealer's tray, and walking away after buying them - I'm sure I would have been stopped. I doubt they would appreciate someone shutting down all 5 pit games for a bunch of collectors.

Sad day from the collection standpoint but I finished up $6 in a fun poker room, so I'd say it was worth the trip (provided you were going to be there already).

This is a pretty sweet $1, $5 and $25 RHC. Not sure if they are the new but a 1 5 and 25 were just updated this week. If the link don't work it's Johnny Zs in Colorado.

Unfortunately, those are old. They were the chips they used when the place opened, but now they've switched to ceramics. I know, cause me & the wife like to go there to shoot craps. Cool little casino! If anyone is ever out here in CO, they should check it out.

Penn Natioal (hollywood brand) is buying the tropicana on the Vegas strip. And Wynn resorts is going to be opening a casino in mass around 2017?
