Nevada Club/Lodge owners unite! (1 Viewer)

So cool John! I love those vintage slots. I’ve got one that was converted to a more modern version for the time.
To my understanding, when the Winter Olympics came to Squaw Valley in 1960, many of the old slots were converted to a Baldecchi design.
It was considered modern looking for the time.
Basically the Mills/Jennings guts were taken out of machines that look like the ones in your pictures and placed in Baldecchi casings.
This is the one I have in my card room. @pokerpig found this for sale at a garage sale in suburban LA.
According to what @pokerpig found out from the seller, it was acquired in a trade at a car swap meet and at one time was in the Nevada Lodge at Lake Tahoe.
I love this piece of history and it sits proudly displayed in my card room. @pokerpig took a day off and drove over an hour one way to negotiate a price and acquire this machine for me. What can you say about a chipper that you’ve never met that would do such a great thing for another chipper he’d never met?
@pokerpig is like a brother to me and this slot means so much to me. It’s good deeds like this that make my card room, chipping and this community so awesome to me.
Thank you Al. My Nevada Lodge/Club themed card room is most complete thanks to you.

You are correct on Baldecchi. I worked with a son, Joe for a few years. He was finishing his career as I was starting mine. Very nice guy, but he killed a lot of great machines.

Have to agree with you John. Although I absolutely love the machine that I own, the ones that you have are just incredible. I hope to one day ad one to my collection that is in original form.
A lot of what makes the NL/NC chips and casino memorabilia so desirable to me is the history behind it all.
If one of your machines ever needs to go to a new home, I’d love to ad one to my collection. I don’t think I could make a fair offer on one currently but some day, I hope to do so. :)

Here are some Nevada club chips, mixed in among others...

As a new NL/NC owner, I thought I’d post some of the pictures I had posted in my journey thread here of the set I’ve been putting together over the last 4 months. I have one more rack each of $25s and $100s to go.

Freakin beautiful. Sure it took some work tracking all of those down.

Thanks, matt!
I don’t own any racks above the $25 denomination. The way the chips transition into the higher denoms from that point is beautiful. An array of color. Your pictures make some of the less sought after chips much much more desirable.
All I can think about is Baskin Robins 31 flavors when I see these pictures. TOTAL SWEETNESS!!! I can’t compliment what you’ve done enough. It’s the GOAT!

This thread is wonderful!

I’m late to the game but this year I’ve been working on a NC set. My lineup consists of green and yellow roulette fracs (this gives me flexibility and it’s fun because they’re original NC chips). $1s are white, the $5s are pink (did y’all expect anything else :cool). And the upper end I’ll be filling out slowly.

Thanks to @liftapint for some amazing help with the roulettes and @RivieraDanny with all the amazing edge conditioning which truly brought these $1s back to life!

I was lucky enough to score 1000x $1 chips to make this set double as a real deal limit set. Once I get everything together I’ll post better pics.

Also, I’m going to be getting some more $25 chips down the road from a good friend, you know who you are
an absolute legend

Basically I couldn’t have done any of this if it wasn’t for a lot of help from really cool people here. I love you guys

Cheers,
Dan

Been meaning to take some family photos. All right…I’ll get the table out and do it.

Reading through the whole thread I’ve seen many promises by @liftapint over the years to post pics of her NL/NC set, but so far nothing. What do you think Mel? You show me yours I’ll show you mine! :ROFLMAO:
