Nakatomi Plaza - THC Tournament Set (1 Viewer)

Love everything about this set! Fantastic work!

But I'm going to focus on the inlay and design work :)

Love the type, the graphics, the subtle color matching, how it extends to the cards, etc.

@mattross1313 if I read your OP correctly, you did the designs?! Do you have a background in design, or have designed other labels before?

Thanks, friend :cool

Yes I did the designs and created the artwork for the set. I don't directly have a background in graphic design, but enjoy designing / building things in general, keeps me occupied :D

I've designed a number of labels for my previous cash set last summer, and worked with a few members here helping design their sets (labels, buttons, cut cards etc) - these should be ready for their own reveals soon we hope :ninja:

Wow these came out great! With custom cards and dice, too! Nicely done! Love that movie and watch it every year.

For a short time, I had an office in the building. Here is the view from my desk, street look familiar?

I've since moved offices, but can still see the Plaza from my new office :)

Do you work at Fox?

Preach! There's an old Swedish saying that goes: It's not Christmas until Severus Snape falls down from the Nakatomi Plaza.
In our house it's not Christmas until we watch Die Hard on Christmas Eve. However, the good wife only allows it as long as we also watch Love Actually :cautious:

Inspired by Die Hard, arguably the greatest Christmas movies of all time, I've been working on this for most of 2021 - be it designing the artwork & accessories, scouring PCF on the daily for chips, working with vendors or waiting for USPS!.....The final piece of the puzzle arrived this morning, so I got everything together for a photoshoot!

I put together a mixed RHC set last year, and whilst it was a great introduction to real chips I regretted not getting a cohesive / themed set. The opportunity to move up to THC chips presented itself back in January, which then set me off down a new rabbit hole!....and well, here we are. I toyed with a few ideas for my theme based on some of my favourite movies, and this one always stood out in my mind. The building name has a cool ring to it and almost sounds like it could've been a casino.

Originally built as a STT set, I added on a rack of T5 chips with a view of introducing micro-stakes cash games with my regular crew. There's no danger of chips crossing tables as we only ever have one table a night. Whilst the colours colors may not be traditional, I love the line up obtained for this set and the edge progression is great. As tends to happen on PCF, whilst waiting for the chips/labels to ship to me in the UK I fell further into the rabbit hole and completed the set with some Bounty Chips, Buttons, Cut Cards and Dice.

As ever, a lot of great PCF folks were very helpful along my journey building this set:

@jr8719 - for sending my down the THC rabbit hole, helping with line up ideas, and the sweet sweet bounty chips!
@Gear - for the labels and top customer service
@ReallyGoodUsername - for suffering my endless questions, and helping me secure some great chips!
@TheChipRoom - for bringing such great chips into the community
@BR Pro Poker - friendly service and top products
@LeGold - for not only helping secure the final rack of chips in my set, but also the dice! If you don't have any yet, why not!?
@Eloe2000 - for the excellent cut cards, really appreciate the effort putting the GB's together for us degen's!

Lastly
@Thisfiendis138 - my PCF partner in crime, if the wife ever finds out how much money and time I spend around here the blame will lie solely at his feet. From initially just talking about the idea, he's been a huge help putting this set together: arranging things on the US side, helping secure chips, handling re-shipping, giving chip/design feedback. All while trying to work on his own baller custom set at the same time, and having no time to play.

Anyway, enough talk, onto the pics. Thanks!

Awesome set! Just wondering where you got the dealer button done? I'm looking for a local UK vendor!

Thanks. Not sure on any UK suppliers, but most folks around here use @BR Pro Poker for custom stuff. I had mine shipped to a buddy in the UK as he was forwarding me a load of poker stuff. But a few folks have ordered directly with shipping to the UK and it's not 'awful'. @JP1984 did just this recently.
