This kind of happened by accident, but now I'm sort of pot committed, so I'm trying to put together a comprehensive sampler of high-end chips.
It started in early January, when I won an auction for @AK Chip's "box of goodies". It included a CPC A-mold color sample set, an old ASM 44mm A-mold color sample set, shuffle stacks of jockey, elephant & crown, l-crown, and circle square molds, a few odd CPC mold samples, and a barrel of stunning Palms 49mm buy-in chips. There were some Carta Mundi and Bicycle Prestige setups included, as well. I've spent a lot of time shuffling the different molds, putting together different prospective sets, mixing colors, and so on. So far, CSQ is my favorite CPC 39mm mold, by feel. I absolutely love shuffling the 44mm chips, too!
Next, I forgot to check in on @djmarc's auction for some RHC color samples, but he had a number of extras and doubles that he offered me after the auction was over. He also included a couple Las Vegas School of Dealing chips, and a bonus Paris $1! I'm not crazy about the RHC mold chips, but these Paulson colors are spectacular!
Next, @BSteck agreed to sell me 10 Scandia $1's out of his 230 that he was selling. OK, I'm starting to understand the obsession. The feel and sound of these!
And my most recent purchase is 10 of the Sunfly 43mm hybrids that I grabbed from @18xx Board Gamer. I'm going to add some Gear labels to these. Maybe some bounties, or just some promo sample labels.
I've got a couple other things on the way, and I'll update this thread as they come in. I'd definitely like to add some other shuffle stacks, including:
-Ceramics (old chipcos, ABC,Matsui, etc.)
-GPI promos (Elite, Monaco,etc.)
-TRK's
-other CPC molds
-BCC's
-Old bicycle tire THC's
-Casino used RHC's
-Grand inlay Paulsons
-???
Not sure what I'm going to do with these. Rotate them as shufflers, rent them out to new chippers, or who knows. Right now, I'm just enjoying having them around and finding out what I like.
