The first round of confirmed orders has been mailed out.
I decided I'll keep this open for another week or so and then just sell off the remaining chips (hopefully as a playable short-handed cash set.)

Based on what I have remaining, which will be broken up and sold in a week or so,
I'm changing the prior options.
I have 3 6-chip sample sets left and can sell them for $6 / set. $5 a second set or $23 shipped for 3 samples

Wow, didn't expect to get to 9 in the first 6 hours.
Looks like this is going to happen.

If anyone is interested in upgrading from 'Sample Set' to 'Shuffle stack'
for $2 more I can add an extra $1, $5, $25 and $100 chip.

I feel like I've had a sample set of these for like 20 years and have no idea where the hell I got them. Does anyone know the story behind these, other than the fact it's based off of the fictitious casino from the movie Casino?

A company called Best Bet sold brass chips like these, originally stamped with a "WSOP" branding. They got sued. Later they started selling these, with the Tangiers branding. There's yet another variation with "Las Vegas Centennial" branding.

So while the chip is obviously a reference to the fictional casino from Casino, they are almost certainly not connected with the movie production in any way and are just unauthorized tributes.

Pretty cool looking, but not a lot of people would enjoy using them to play poker - they're very heavy. Although some people like heavy chips.

@fish72s you might want to reach out to @JLPicard , it looked like he might be interested in a Tangiers set if the price were right.

Yeah, this is exactly the info I was looking for, thank you very much. I still don't know how or when I got these though. Casino has always been one of my favorite movies since it came out. Might have saw these on eBay and made a drunk purchase, who knows. Very cool as card cappers IMO :D
