While waiting on Gear labels for my cash game set I decided to build an ASM mold mix with enough chips support about any game my group wanted to play. Not a ton of cash invested but a whole lot of sweat equity for sure!

I bought the drill press, router bits and mini clamp per other forums I'd read thru. The tricky part is centering the bit and chip. Had some old chips to sacrifice for practice and get used to the pressure to apply (too much and the chip would break, too little and the chip would get hot and break down. I started out using the depth gauge on the press but after awhile it was easier to go by feel.So cool! Would love to hear anything you'd share about your milling process.
Great info. I wouldn't have thought about the heat at all. Mind sharing what bit and press you used?I bought the drill press, router bits and mini clamp per other forums I'd read thru. I learned to take care to not put the edge spots in a place where they could get stressed and cause damage and to only do one side at a time to keep the heat down.
The vacuum cleaner kept the shavings away so I could see the cut clearly and eventually I was able to process about a rack per hour once I got in a rythem. I did have three or four of the older chips break, but a light application of gorilla glue on a flat surface repaired them all almost unnoticeable.
Yes. The bushings that came with the mini vice (Amazon) didn't work well as they were made to hold cylindrical material like a dowel. I went to Lowe's and find the delrin spacers in the fastener aisle.is that jig just a drill press vise with some delrin bushes installed by drilling and securing with some metal screws?
reminds me of some of the watch movement holder vises i've seen at high end watch shops etc.

Thank you sir. I would probably say 20 - 22 hours for the milling process. Maybe 8 hours in applying the labels. The bits held up rather well in fact. I did about 1600 chips with the 7/8" bit but did notice the difference when I switched to the 1" bit.Very nice! These look awesome. Looks like you got the label to match the diameter of your recess spot on. You have some patience my friend. About how many hours did you put into this project? How did the bit hold up? Still sharp?
UHMW Grommets from LowesAnyone has any idea where to get the white washers used in the clamp in the first picture?
The original clamp comes with orange washers that are not flat in shape.
Thanks!
