Played around with Midjourney a bit more. Here are some observations:
- Short (1-3 word) prompts tend to produce interesting results, although probably not what you imagined. See the first attached image, the prompt was 'weathercore'.
- Incoherent prompts cause 'hallucinations', which can be fascinating. For example, I entered the hex code for a brick red color ('#b44d12') and got the second attached image.
- It has a describe feature which is like a reverse of the process. So you upload an image and the AI produces some prompts which might have generated it. This is very helpful for getting ideas for words to use to obtain specific effects.
- Unusual word combinations can be fascinating. For example, I tried 'catastrophic embrace, god rays, repetitive dotwork' and got the third attached results. 'God rays' and 'repetitive dotwork' are phrases I got from the describe feature.
- Adding 'cell shading' to your prompt can be really beneficial.
