I am sure many here will agree that the Mapes chips are truly pieces of art. I recently pulled the trigger on a tan t-mold $100 for around $10 and am shocked at what good condition it is in. I would love to round out the set with a $5 and $25, but the problem is...I am not sure which $5 or $25 to buy. As you can see here on the Chip Guide, http://www.themogh.org/cg_chip2.php?id=NVREMA, there are 6 different $5 t-molds, 2 $25 t-molds, with all of them attributed to the 1950s. Expanding my question to the SCrown mold, it appears they used a number of different versions during the 1960.
So my question is, has there ever been work done in trying to identify what chips went into play together and in approximately what year? I know if would be a tough task, as it seems like there could be endless combinations.
