I have a small collection of Live poker chips from the Treasury casino in Brisbane, it’s a Star group property that is moving soon and when moved it will become Star brisbane and drop the Treasury branding.

The casino has updated their $1 and $5 chips to the Matsui chips. But they still use the old hot stamp pink snapper.

The Star casino (Gold Coast) has a very similar set of chips with slight difference in the colours of the $1 and $5. Similar enough to be in circulation in Treasury at about 1:500 frequency. Usually in the poker room.

Star GC has a snapper that is the same mould but is exactly the same colour in all three colour spots. Very weird chip, as you can only see the detail when you reflect light off the chip.

Should I:

1 keep the pink hot stamp snappers
2 use the GC snapper
3 make 2 sets
4 try and buy all of the live 2.5 so that they have to update the chip and release a treasury 2.5 in the matsui mould?

I tend to prefer the Aussie and European chips, probably because They’re what I’m used to.

The US chip sets are nice, but I feel like they get dirty easily and older ones get completely rounded off. I had a set of drilled Sheraton casino $100’s back in 08 but wasn’t a collector and don’t have them anymore. They had so much gunk on them they were sticking together
