Ok, this might be a weird question , but does anyone use a lighted Dealer Button (battery operated, I guess) and/or know of where to get one?

I ask as my poker “room” isn’t that bright and my poker table cloth is dark in color. Yeah, I could just go with a light color DB (white, yellow, etc.), but where’s the fun in that?

I think a lighted DB would be cool (or am I wrong here?). Plus it would/should be noticeable for even the laziest of players that consistently don’t pay attention - especially when it’s their turn (“Hey, it’s your turn (again)”. “Oh, really?…………..Who’s on the button?”:mad:).

Thoughts/input?

My fears are

A. Your light in the dealer button won't last a whole session, or

B. Your dealer button will be the size of a brick to hold enough battery to last.

I don't see this working out too well

I think that's an excellent idea!
If there was a way to put an old cell phone battery in it and charge it with USB that'd be awesome and make it last longer.
Another idea is just watch batteries.
Last idea and probably the cheapest easiest is just make glow in the dark or use some type of illuminescent paint and charge it with a uv flash light when it gets dim.

Curious tho-
If you can't see the dealer button, How do you see the cards?

:confused. I hope that’s not true - that it it would be too big/heavy.

Hoping a 2-3 watch batteries would do the job - and last it would last at least one session….

Yeah, was afraid someone would remark on the “lack of light” comment…. It’s really not that dark, but the last time I put on a game I used my custom black-colored DB on a dark blue table cloth… :confused Hence, the real reason for this thread (busted!).

But I love the idea of a rechargeable one! And if cheap enough, gather two of them - one as a backup in case the first one loses it’s full charge…

Up for developing a prototype??? :p

I just made this in 5 min. I didn't have enough letters but how's this:

Made with a cheap puck light. It looks good in white but it wouldn't photograph so that's why I did it in red. (It has several color options)

Just an idea...
Didn't have the time to search properly.
Yeah, that's a good idea...

But what I'm thinking is, is that the DB mostly needs to be lit on the edge side more-so than the face... easier to notice the DB from other seats around the table...

I came across an actual lighted hockey puck. Seems like a great idea! A little expensive, relatively speaking (~$30), but I really like the design, and it's rechargeable too!:

But unfortunately, as I kind of expected, they confirmed the light only stays on for one full minute. Needs to be "touched" or "bumped" (it's a usable hockey puck after all) to restart the lighting... this would work, but having to bump it all the time is not ideal in my opinion...

I came across another lighted puck (battery operated) - the design is not as good, but maybe it'll always stay on. Will reach out to them...

Even found a lighted (and rechargeable!) air-hockey puck. But I'm gonna guess it's too thin to be as noticeable as I'm hoping it to be.

But you get the idea... something along these lines would be great...

Any other suggestions/recommendations? Or perhaps someone knows how to "change" the Flash puck above to never turn off??? That would be perfect - can even put a custom DB label on it too...

Thanx!!

There are car drink cup holder coasters (I think I said that right) that are solar charged & usb rechargeable. I have no clue on what the illumination time is because I've never driven that far lol. I have bought Mazda for my son & Toyota for myself. I have no clue if there's a vehicle out there that works with a set of chips but here's a link to see what I'm talking about.

OH! I had considered those, but never noticed any that were lit on the edges like that. That looks perfect! Gonna research this... But upon first glance, this looks perfect... Thank you!!!!

That puck I made is very visible from any seat. I'll use it for a few orbits this Thursday for feedback

Apparently I was looking hard enough, as now I'm seeing these all over the place on Amazon...:wtf:

But these look perfect. Will buy a pair and test them out!

Thanx again!

These look amazing! My only concern is how they slide because imo that can make or break a dealer button

Agreed! Will order a pair and test. And, if sliding is a problem, will work on how it can be changed/adjusted to do so...
