Las Vegas Harvesting (1 Viewer)

I saw your auction for the 100 Paris chips. Do you still have the extra 50-60 available?

I got home late last night...and now I am at work... (boooooo!!). I will count up what I have when I get home. I know I have more Paris but not sure how many.

Yup, I'm dragging at work too. Last week went by too fast.
No prob, let me know what else you have left from your trip that you're letting go.

Thanks Perry!

Barrel of Caesar's left? Or are they all spoken for?

I think I will have around a barrel left. I might just do an auction because several people want them. I will do a final count on these as well.

The problem was at the end of my trip I was just at capacity. I had money but no room left in my bag. I brought home about 12-14 racks and my bag weighed a ton. I was scared of buying more chips. If anyone wants to buy these just go to the poker room and ask at the front to buy chips. I had this super chill black guy that probably would have sold me a whole rack. It was a mistake on my part...I shoulda bought a rack given the demand....sorry fellas.

I will be getting 2 racks of Sam's Town $1 chips in a couple weeks. If anyone wants these let me know. Depending on condition - price will be around 220-275/rack +shipping.

Leaving the casino with chips is generally allowed. You don't need to tip anyone or get permission or whatever.

There are several ways to harvest chips. You can simply pay for chips at the main casino cage. Some casinos may sell you chips by the rack some casinos may only sell you 1-2 chips or a barrel.

If you want mint chips your best chance is to offer a 20 dollar tip at the main cage and ask for chips "new in box".

Buying chips from the poker room is another great option as they are used to selling chips by the rack to the public. Generally the main cage is cashing out chips so they are less accustom to handing over racks of chips to people.

The other way to harvest is to just glean chips as you play. So you can play Blackjack, Craps, or Poker and then slowly pocket some of the 1's along the way.

This was vert informative, im gunna give it a shot myself when i head to vegas next month

Whats everyones favorite places to get $1s in Vegas? I'll be there a few days this month and might decide to try to collect some depending where I want to play.

PARIS!
Mirage and TI have nice 1's as well (dark blue)
Caesars has the timeless classic 1's
Bellagio and Aria have those fancy 1's

It’s my understanding that Paris is more difficult to get? I do like them and was hoping for a THC mold too.

I’m sure I’ll be playing at Aria so I could easily get $1s but then I don’t know what kind of mix set to build with them being a house mold.

I will be going in December right before Christmas and spending time with my daughter. Not sure if I will be harvesting much but you never know. There are a couple of casinos that would be on my list though.

I usually like staying at he Venetioan and almost booked at he Cosmopolitan but I ended up getting a great rate at the ....

wait for it.....

THE FLAMINGO! LOL I thought I would stay there since I have so much invested in their chips!

and was hoping for a THC mold too.

If you want classic THC mold, then Bally's and NYNY are your next best thing (if you want white chips over blue)

Hard Rock has darker blue THC $1 chips but the label design is just awful (see the thread, "chips you dislike")

THC options:
-Paris
-NYNY
-Venetian/Palazzo
-Ballys
-Flamingo
- Rio
-Silver Sevens 1 and 2 dollar chips (off strip)
- Sams Town (off strip)

Paris and NYNY are great THC chips but challenging to harvest due to no poker room. Other THC options include rio, Venetian/palazoo, flamingo, hard rock, Bally’s and Boulder Station (a nice light blue and chips are relatively new).

RHC options include Green Valley and Red Rock for gray dollars, plaza and binions (blue), and sunset station for a light blue. If you are willing to head to the state line, buffalo bill has a light blue, Whiskey Petes has a darker blue and primm valley has a nice light blue with hot pink spots.

For house mold, you’ve got Luxor, four queens, Excalibur, and planet Hollywood for white. Trop and Mirage for off white. You’ve got Caesars, harrahs, TI, bellagio, aria, cosmo, mandalay, mgm and park mgm for various blues.

And then if you want chips with values over a buck, there’s a ton of options (I recommend Caesars $2, mgm $3,and mirage $3).

Hope this helps.

Early morning at Flamingo cage, a cashier went to the back to look for some new $5s for me. I was surprised. He didn't find any, but sold me a rack & even sorted out all the BJ $5s for me. At the Paris cage, I got turned down by multiple cashiers and supervisors on different days. It all depends on who you ask, how busy they are, who's supervising, what kind of day they're having. It never hurts to ask. Expect a no, but sometimes you'll get a yes.

Wahoo!! Pretty good results for my first harvesting trip. :)

Not much luck at the cages. The most I ever got was 20 but more often I just got 5 or none at all. Pretty easy to get 10 when changing $100 at the craps table - bet a couple pass lines and left with no problems. Was never refused when walking up to an empty black jack table and asking for 5 souvineer $1’s. Probably 1 in 3 dealers would be nice enough to pick out clean chips since they were for souvineers. Was also able to get 20 at a time at the Paris wheel but felt like I needed to stick around for a couple of spins before I pocketed the chips and left. It didn’t seem that they changed dealers (spinners?) at the wheel very often so I couldn’t take advantage of it as much as I would have liked.

So yah... it takes a bit of time to pull together a full rack when the casino doesn’t have a poker room. And I spent the day lurking around from table to table gathering chips instead of enjoying the casino. Definitely a worthwhile trip but it totally felt like a workday and not a vacation day.

Good luck in your harvesting everyone!

Oh... and if I was to do it again I’d definitely pull back on my harvesting goals. Just go after one rack from one casino per day. That would be pretty easy playing craps and not have the time pressures of 100% harvesting.

!

I can sympathize with this. If you have a goal of getting many chips from several casinos one evening can turn into a busy adventure lasting into the early morning. Great job with your haul!

Did you manage to complete your second Paris rack? That partial rack would tilt me.

I am a bit jelly of your NYNY chips since I was never able to get many chips out of there. Only a few barrels at the most. Those NYNY chips will clean up and look fantastic!

A++

Well, since you asked!!

1) 1 rack of Bellagio $1s, mint/near mint ...but seems like you already have quite a few requests for these.
2) 1-2 racks of Circus Circus $1 (see photo below, the white chip with blue and pink spots) -- mint/near mint.
3) 1-2 barrels of Mirage $3 (see photo below, black chip with blue, pink, and yellow spots) -- mint/near mint
4) 2 racks of Paris $1s, mint/near mint

Any of the above (or all!) would be spectacular! THANKS! And no problem if no chips come my way. But delighted to be on your "hunt" list, and see what happens!

That's a lot of asks...if you get there and are successful and need funds to keep going...let me know and I can paypal you immediately :)

I also have a *TON* of chip boxes that I could send to you. They aren't beautiful, but they'd get the job done. International shipping seems like it would be cost prohibitive, however. Let me know if you can think of a reasonable way for me to get them to you.
