I purchased the retired chips from the Lac Courte Oreilles (LCO) casino in northern Wisconsin (pronounced: lah-coot-oh-ray). These LCO chips are leaded THC-mold Paulsons, with shaped inlays on the $25 (and $100) denominations. The chips were used in this very small casino for 25 years, and are in much better shape than the non-leaded RHC formulation chips I have seen (for example, from the CIN/CLE Horseshoe buys).

This is the only limit set sold on PCF that has the better quality $1 chips that I hand sorted from the buy. The set has n=1,000 of the hand-sorted $1 chips + n=200 of the leaded, shaped inlay $25 chips. A great limit breakdown with 25 big bets at 2/4. Note that there will be one (maybe two) other limit sets sold in the future with the lower quality $1s (i.e., with similar breakdown as this set).

Full Set:

Starting Stack:
238808

A comparison of the $1 "good sorted" vs. "culled lower quality" chips is below. The "good quality" $1 chips are still casino used, but are in significantly better condition since I sorted them to the best of my ability and removed the large defect chips.

Good chips (REPRESENTATIVE OF $1s IN THIS SET):
238817

Culled lower quality ($1s THAT ARE NOT PART OF THIS SET):
238818

There are plenty of additional pics here in the full THC set sale thread, including cleaned and oiled chips (which really pop). Note that there are only a couple of the full THC sets still available.

  1. STARTING BID: $1
  2. Bids must be placed in minimum increments of $1
  3. NO RESERVE. NO BIN.
  4. All bids are to be placed openly in this thread. No bids via PM/Conversation.
  5. Auction will use my interpretation of the '6 minutes after last closing bid rule'. Highest bid at 3pm Central on Saturday 02Feb2019 will win unless there is a bid within 6 minutes of closing time - then the closing time will be 6 min. after the latest bid was posted.
  6. Edited posts will be voided (except mine).
  7. I reserve the right to: i) cancel the auction if no bids have been made; ii) edit the listing to correct errors or clarify rules as needed.
  8. PCF (it's Owner, Admins, and Moderators) are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  9. Shipping Terms: FOB my post office, actual shipping costs to be added to the final price (i.e., based on buyer's geography). Likely two MFRBs for $28 CONUS. International buyers are welcome, and insurance may be available for purchase per standard USPS terms and rates. As others can confirm, I package extremely well.
  10. Payment Terms: Cash at a meetup, check, PayPal F+F (or non-FF Paypal with buyer covering fees)
This is the only nice $1 limit set that will be available on PCF, and then the well is dry. I do have additional $25s/$100s that the buyer can add for additional cost, if desired. Best of luck!

Just realized i won't win this tomorrow - so free bump

I was calendar-challenged on this one, putting the end date a week later than I intended. The auction ends this upcoming Saturday, and my apologies for the long duration. These are going to clean up into one fantastic looking set. Best of luck all!

Lac Courte Oreilles = Short Ears Lake
(The Cultural Moment from Switzerland:tup:)

Yep, the French settlers to the area thought the LCO tribe had smaller ears than others. Voila!

And here are some more pics of the sorted $1s that have been received by others (@espehrson chips):
