Jay Gruden, the former Washington Redskins coach, a longtime NFL OC and Arena Football legend, is a friend-of-a-friend and we played in the same charity event a few years running. Awesome guy. Drinks a lot. Those 2 may be mutually exclusive.

I played at a table next to Darren McCarty. Former Red Wing goon and local degen. This was about 07-08 when the poker room at Greektown Casino in Detroit was banging. Had a smoking side and non which was really nice. It was always packed.

Anyways D-Mac looked really drunk and didn’t have any teeth. At least none that I could see and I was t going in for a close-up lol. He left Detroit about a million in debt with local casinos when all was said and done.

Groucho Marx, a notorious insomniac, used to call his neighbor Alice Cooper at 1 and 2 in the morning to come over, drink Budweiser and watch old movies. Alice is also a 4 handicap on the golf course.

Don’t know if he plays poker but he’s awesome.
