KEY WEST RESORT & CASINO TO REOPEN SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2021
Sales of Key West Resort & Casino chips, playing cards, dealer buttons and accessories will resume on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.

Sales were paused on January 1 after we changed business structures and obtained a new license for the year. The process, which would normally take two to three days, took six weeks while we waited for documents our bank needed. We got the necessary licenses immediately, but our state was slow to respond to the filing and waited two weeks to actually send papers bearing the state seal -- documents our bank needed. The pandemic and delays in the delivery of mail added weeks to the process.

Earlier this week, I was able to confirm that our PayPal and Square accounts are connected to our bank, so we can again offer Key West here on Poker Chip Forum.

I want to express my sincere thanks to Tommy and everyone here -- all the members of PCF -- for their patience as we worked through this process.

I'm looking forward to a great 2021, and wish everyone good luck!

-- Dennis

Q & A: What is Key West?

Key West is a line of compression-molded clay casino chips made for us by Classic Poker Chips.

The stylized logo on the inlay was created by J5 Design in 2004 to make a retro-style chip reminiscent of Old Las Vegas. The chips are purposely designed with muted colors and simple edge spots to look like a real table chip from the Las Vegas Strip in the late 1950s or early 1960s. The name was selected because no Key West Resort & Casino ever existed.

The chips are considered "fantasy," since the casino never existed, and semi-custom, since they're available but are owned by a relatively small number of people. They're made exactly the same way, using the same recipe, materials, machine and chip mold used to make real casino chips for America's first casinos in Sin City.

Q: Why are Key West chips offered here?

I love the design of Key West chips. I love the quality, and the fact that they're made in the United States. I love that they have a great history, and that they're made on the H mold, which dates back over 100 years. So I offer Key West chips for sale here, to anyone who already has Key West chips and would like to be able to buy more, or anyone who would like to build a new set of Key West chips.

Custom v Key West chips:

If you have a vision for a great custom clay chip and know what you want, you should contact Classic Poker Chips and go forward with making that chip for yourself. (Don't forget to post pictures here on PCF.)

But if you like the Key West design and don't have the need for a custom chip, Key West is a great way to have Classic's great quality chips on your table even faster and for a bit lower cost. I have an average of 18,000 to 20,000 chips in stock, ready to ship, most of the time, so you won't have to wait for chip production.

The Key West line also includes playing cards, dealer buttons and casino dice bearing the Key West name, and a long list of other table game accessories and casino products. My one rule for these products is simple: It has to look and feel like it came from a real casino. (I worked as a blackjack dealer for a major casino for awhile, too, so I know what that means.)

If you are seeking some very nice casino chips, playing cards, dealer buttons, cut cards and other things to add a touch of Old Las Vegas, it's a great option available to you.

How to order:

Send a PM to me (dennis63) here on PCF. I'll know you are a PCF member, and you'll get a member discount on chips.

Payment options are PayPal or your credit card using Square, a secure credit card processor.

Just PM your name and shipping information, an exact list of what you'd like, and your preferences for payment (PayPal or Square), shipping and insurance. Include a contact email and I'll send an invoice you can pay with a click.

Shipping:

We ship after payment. Orders are usually shipped 24 to 72 hours after payment. Most packages will go out on the next business day after your payment is received. Large orders take a bit longer to prepare, and if you pay at 3 a.m., your order miggt not be ready to ship that morning.

Shipping these days is expensive, and we do need to charge shipping on your order. I only charge the amount I'm charged, so we don't make "profit" on shipping.

International orders

We ship internationally all the time. International orders are happily accepted.

Good to hear!

I'll ask this in the public forum rather than PM in case anyone is curious. Do you have an ETA from David on when the H-mold is going into the rotation again? I only ask because I'm trying to budget for the year and want to know if possible when to put the money aside to pay for my order.

Wonderful news, congratulations! Been waiting for this for a while now, so has the order :)

No clue, actually. When David contacted me last year about ordering for the next run, I got the impression that he was talking about a run of the H mold in the first half of 2021. There was no specific target date discussed.

Sometimes the early predictions can be ambitious, and end up getting pushed back a bit.

I was thinking some time in the first half of 2021, but that's only my guess.

As to my budget:

Let's hope so. I just received my 44mm chips yesterday that were originally planned for around September. Going by that, it seems that CPC is about 5 months or so "behind". There was just a massive run of H-mold last summer, I'd imagine that the mold will be installed around the same time this year if I were to guess.
