The title says it all. I had to tell somebody, and since my poker buddies have no clue why I keep buying cards or how much I spend on them I certainly can't tell them and expect them to think I'm any cooler.

Fourniers have become my new babies. I have three set-ups of the Congress bridge-size/jumbo-index cards that H|Q has listed in the classifieds (if you haven't tried Fourniers, don't sleep. Go buy them NOW), and three set-ups of the 2525 bridge-size/standard-index/four-pip cards, which I like a lot more than I thought I would.

Long story short: Fourniers are the nuts. Get some now.

I never thought I'd want a bunch of cards, but have since discovered that it's as nice as owning a lot of nice chips, and you all know what that's like. :)

I'm into these decks now too. My boys are 7 and 9 and they are really into card tricks now. They found my cards and now they don't want paper cards. I bought them some black copag epocs and now I think I want a set of those for myself too. I'm not quite up to 20 sets but I'm almost there.
 
The infatuation with the Epocs will go away quickly. Not fun cards to play with for an extended period of time. After one night, they will sit in the drawer . . .

TOTALLY agree with ^this^ assessment. Used once for a Halloween-theme tournament five years ago, and haven't seen the light of day since.
 
Have you tried the Zero Tabriz? Hard to find but worth the search.
 
Zeros are amazing cards. On my top list among with Modiano Platinum Acetate and Fournier WSOP's.

Luckily I have four setups of Modiano bridge-size cards and six Fournier setups in bridge-size as well. These are my two favorite manufacturers by far, but right now I'm giving the number one slot to Fournier.

I guess I will just borrow them, the art does take a little getting use to. Also, all my set ups have been poker size but I think I'm going to give the bridge size cards a chance. I needed to get my boys bridge size cards because they have small hands and can manipulate the deck better for their tricks. Just an excuse to get more cards...

Be careful. Once you play with bridge cards you may never play with your poker size cards again.
 
I dig the Fournier WSOP the most. I'm not crazy about the design on the backs but the cards handle great. It's a shame that Fournier aren't easier to come by.
 
Yeah, partly the problem - not much competition so prices are quite high. Amazon.co.uk has the WSOP but at $15/deck.

I should move to Spain and become a distributor/PCF sponcer to help drive prices down. :)

That's the price on eBay from Europe to Canada. My apologies for the confusion.

For us Canucks
$40 for the setup, which is the cheapest price I've found on eBay.
$7 for shipping
$10 (Canada Post brokerage fee)
??? for duty / tax (19% combined, I think, so another $8?)

So, closer to $65 CDN. Still ouch.

For North American sources, Caragails doesn't have them in stock. Haven't in a long time.

Trident cards on Amazon only has the blue/purple card. When they had the red cards, they wouldn't ship to Canada. They will ship the blue ones. No explanation on why there is a difference (I've asked), and it applies to most of their cards. Some cards ship, some don't, and the divide is between colours of the same card. Frustrating as all heck.

I'm 6'5" and have big hands. I'm fine with poker-sized cards... but still prefer bridge when playing trick-taking games with a lot of cards in hand.

But I hate regular index cards for poker games, and hate jumbo index for trick-taking games. Hate both, with a passion.

Sorry, no, mine are the Fournier-branded WSOP Breakout style, poker sized.
