Hi guys, I've just joined this forum and I wanted to buy some true clay/ceramic chips, however they're extremely expensive and can only be bought in large quantities. I was wondering if there was any way to buy just 10-25 clay/ceramic chips to mix in with the rest of my set (eg to replace the $100 denomination), for a bit of fun. Does anyone here know how/where I could get these? I see there are buy pools here, are those a good option for me? I'm mainly looking for used (due to price) but new is potentially ok too. I live in England, I hope this is ok as it seems the majority of this forum is American. Thankfully I found an absolute steal on fb marketplace for 2000 'Full House Poker Club' chips for £30, so I'm sorted for general chips for a while!

I hope this doesn't go against any rules and such, I did read the FAQs and 'new users start here's etc.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Welcome

The Classifieds here have plenty of listings for small quantities of chips, often at very reasonable prices ($1/chip or less). There's a bit of a learning curve to understanding chips however... what's 'clay,' what condition, etc... If you enjoy browsing you'll learn quick.

Another option for you is @David Spragg 's Marlow Casino Chips, he's a chip dealer in England. The website can be a bit confusing, especially if you're new to the scene, but you could simply email him with what you're looking for and he might give you a couple good options.

I've done a good amount of research regarding the pitfalls of what's actually clay and why ceramic is good and so on, though I admit I don't feel entirely prepared ':) I checked the sales (classifieds?) section but everything seemed to be in quantities of around 100. I'll have more of a look now though. Thank you!

I think you're on the right track. Usually someone new to the forum says somethig like "low budget, but I want real clay". That's water and oil. Low quantity of high quality is absolutely a thing. Like others have stated, get a barrel at a time if that's what you can afford. Before you know it you'll have a decent set. In most cases you can run a solid single table with 300 chips. Good luck and happy hunting.

Ahah thank you, I did my research first before coming here. I had no idea how expensive nice poker chips were until yesterday, coming here and seeing racks with $1k blew my mind ':) (I now totally get it though)
