Hello all!

I’m looking for a recommendation…

I just bought a bunch of these ceramic Re-raise 10 gram, 39mm chips off Amazon: Link

They have good weight and feel, but the downside to them is that they shuffle for crap!!

Any options out there that would be better for a home game? Do I need Paulson’s? Do I need to take $1 chips from my local casino?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve heard that you can get samples and figure what you like.
Out of curiosity what is you local casino?

I would send those back to Amazon lol
Spend some time around here sourcing samples and gathering some suggestions. Paulson's are great but no you don't need them. Ceramics are available. There's lots of different materials out there so just find what you (and your group if you want their input) likes

And you can gather chips from your local casino, that's always on option. But I would see what's available here on the forum as well

Well, they are decent and they are ceramic

But they don’t shuffle.

I’ll use them in the short term… I would like something that’s as similar to Paulsons that can shuffle well. 😊

MGM / Greek town / Detroit

Those are all nice casinos and some of those chips float around here as "live sets"

Still looking for a set / recommendation that I can buy online somewhere thx

I think you need to do a lot of reading and looking around for awhile. Narrow down specifics and come back with a question that is less broad. Nobody knows your budget. Nobody knows if you are talking cash or tournament. How many players are you planning for? What is your experiences with nicer chips? Sounds like ceramics might not be your thing, but have you handled the nicer ceramics from some of the respected vendors like BR Pro? Have you handled Paulsons? THC? RHC? There are occassionally really good deals on CPC sets here.... do you like them?

Just an FYI, most here aren't going to recommend many online vendors. 99% are cheap chips that we have moved on from. Sincerely trying to help and I hope you stick around and continue to be active. There are many here that will love to help you find what you need once you find your legs. This question is asked by new members constantly so not many will reply. Best wishes.

I agree with @Huskerchipper about reading and taking your time on nicer chips. If you can still return your Reraise chips, I suggest ordering a sample of Olympus (designed by @Huskerchipper) and BR Pro and deciding whether to use one of them as your starter set instead. They're priced similarly to Reraise (Olympus a little less, BR Pro a little more), and they both shuffle great.

As suggested, try out different chips. Get sample sets. Try BR Pro, they are nice, try CC, find maybe some Paulson samples here. I used to think ceramics where the next best thing to Paulsons but turns out I don‘t really like them compared to Paulsons or even china clays. In my opinion Paulsons are unmatched in quality and also in shuffle feel. You can find them for reasonable prices here if you are pacient enough and know what type of chip set you want.
