For your consideration, we have 3 sample sets of Jack Detroit chips available for 3 lucky members! The price for each set is $150, plus the cost of insured shipping by Canada Post to wherever you are. Payment can be made in US dollars by PayPal (to friend) or PayPal (for goods and services) with an extra 3-5% to cover fees depending on final shipping destination.

For anybody who is feeling deja vu regarding this sale, yes, I have offered these items for sale before. Just tweaking the format.

Each 16-chip sample set will consist of 1 chip of each of the following denominations: $0.25, $1, $2.50, $5, $5GO, $25GO, $25Pri, $25Sec, $100Pri, $100Sec, $500Pri, $500Sec, $1000Pri, $1000Sec, $5000Pri, $5000Sec. PCF mouse pad is not included.

Chip Condition: Mint
These chips have been handled, but not played with nor shuffled. They have not been cleaned nor oiled. They are essentially in the same condition I received them in just over 2 years ago.

Please state your interest in purchasing a single set by posting in the sales thread by Saturday, July 24, 4pm Pacific Time, but DO NOT follow up by PM yet. I will keep track of the number of interested parties up to the cutoff time. If there are 3 (or less) interested persons, then I will follow up by PM to arrange payment and shipping. Multiple sets cannot be purchased by the same buyer. "Winners" of my previous Jack Detroit sample set sales are not eligible to take part in this particular sale. Sorry, I just want to spread the love around.

In the event that there are more than 3 interested persons (which I think there will be), then at my discretion I will use a random selection process to choose the first 3 eligible buyers. I will probably do it by assigning a position to each person and playing a hand of some stupid shit card game that I will make up the rules to, dividing the eligible "players" between "tables" as necessary. Any similarity between the game I make up and any existing poker-style card game might be purely accidental. I am not responsible for any physical or psychological trauma associated with how I run this game.

For those posting from other time zones, here is a clarification of the cutoff date/time:
Vancouver Time (Pacific) Jul 24 1600h (GMT -8)
New York Time (Eastern) Jul 24 1900h (GMT -5)
London Time Jul 25 0000h (GMT)
Hong Kong Time Jul 25 0800h (GMT +8)

Feel free to ask questions in the thread. Check my feedback rating and buy with confidence.

Participants:

Okay, here are the game rules.

Firstly, all 19 participants have been divided into 3 tables, as seen in the OP. Each column represents one table. Table A are people who claim a location (by the flag designation under their avatar) outside of the USA. Tables B and C are made up of chippers in the USA. You will notice that the USA chippers groups are slightly larger than the non-USA chippers group and therefore individual odds may be less. Well, that's just too bad. I'm in a slightly pissy mood because the border continues to be closed to Canadians for at least another month despite opening up to Americans earlier. And I've got chips piling up over the last 16 months over there.

One winner from each Table will have first option to purchase the Jack Sample sets at the listed price (plus any shipping/insurance costs). If a winner changes their mind and opts not to buy the set (then why the heck did you sign up?!?!), then the participant with the next highest hand at the same Table will get the chance, etc.

Each participant will be dealt 3 hole cards. Then, 9 community cards will be dealt in a 3x3 pattern. Players will determine their best hand by using 2 of their hole cards and 1 "group" of 3 community cards. To qualify as a "group", it must be either one full row of 3 cards or one full column of 3 cards in the grid. Diagonals or L-shapes cannot be used to determine a "group". A 10th community card will then be dealt, and it can be used to replace 1 card from the designated "group" for each player, but cannot replace a hole card. The 10th card also cannot be used by a player to switch his designated "group" to make a better hand with a different group - one must still use the group that makes the best hand before the 10th community card is dealt.

Everybody understand? Good. I'm going to have dinner first and then get this thing done. Good luck, everyone!

Doesn dcm have a pair of 6?
not that it matters but still trying to figure this thing out.
Also I’m an idiot for not inning.

Actually, he has a pair of 7's since he is forced to play the board with column 3. I missed that. But you're right in that it changes nothing. I'll need to be more careful with the next rounds.

Berny, I didn't realize you were such a mixed game degen! I love it. Let's play this game sometime when we eventually meet up.

I'm not, really. I generally have barely a clue when I'm playing NLHE. This game I made up in 20 seconds in my head and I didn't do any calculations about how it would affect hand odds or anything. I could have just as easily drew for high card for everybody. I'm really just making trouble for myself.

I got lazy with my latest sale/giveaway. Limited it to 20 people. Going to roll a d20. No cards to shuffle. Just chuck a die.
