Tourney input on 18 player T10k (1 Viewer)

awesome. I like the 12/12/5/6 stack myself, but can easily be just as happy with 8/8/4/7 (or 8/8/6/6)

I think even if i had enough T25 and T100 i'd still go with 8/8 and not 12/12 (but i dont have enough so its moot)

Always seems like way too many chips with 12/12

Your game must be getting better, and you MUST be doing something right!! keep it up.

And i will still steal your blinds, even when your in the Main Event.!

Sorry dude, those are pretty awful...

25BB after 1 level?

Agreed, but you don't have to start it with 50BB either. And there are a ton more options, and lots of threads on T10k tourneys. The only downside, there's not much discussion over if a thread like this was posted. But there is lots of content if you want to read and search.

10k Starting stacks with 18 players. No rebuys or add-ons. NLHE.

Tourney should last between 4 and 5 hrs/
The structure below (from your post #16) should work fine, although I'd drop the 2500/5000 blind level and color-up both T100s and T500s after L12. I'd probably drop the 5000/10000 level, too (eliminating the possibility of a late 20% increase from T10k to T12K), although the tournament likely won't last that long.

With 15-minute blind levels and two 10-minute breaks, you're looking at a max. of just over four hours total run time for 18 x T10K stacks with no re-buys. 20-minute blind levels adds about an hour. Consider going with 17-minute blind levels instead, putting total time at around 4:35 max. including breaks. There is nothing magical about using 5-minute increments for blind levels. Players will appreciate those extra two minutes per level more than you think (even if it's subconscious), and total time still remains well within your desired constraints.

12/12/5/6 or 8/8/4/7 stacks are fine for two table events, although I have a definite preference for the larger stacks -- more chips promotes more action and requires less change-making.

Use T1000 chips to color-up the T25/T100 chips, and use T5000 to color-up the T500s -- you'll have 145-150 total chips in play at the end, which is fine for three-handed and heads-up play.
