When building a chipset for a tournament with a big blind ante, a lot of people will prefer at least 15 T100 in the starting stack because 10 isn't enough. For example, when the blinds are 200/400/400, the big blind is expected to put out 8 T100 chips.

Does the same logic apply to the T500 chip in a BBA tournament? I personally don't think so, but I'm curious how the rest of PCF feel.

Which starting stack(s) in the poll do you prefer for T100-based tournaments with a BBA? Most importantly, why?

3 is plenty if you have 15x T100.

Some casino tourneys always seem to do 10/2/8/x and it runs fine but do need change time to time. Making change is easy/quick though. The real issue is when they balance tables and move change off your table and the late entries are only big chips. Then it’s an actual problem. I’ve played where it started off 10 per but got down to 5-6 per and it’s brutal. Fun fact…you can ask the TD for more change chips if you’re in an egregious situation like that, and in my experience they oblige.

15/3 will run like butter though.

Also…you only need exact change for the ante. At 400/400 it’s fine if you put in 4 blacks and leave a 500 or 1k for your blind, change comes after the pre-flop action

Voted 15/5/11/x. This is the starting stack for the Aria $160 daily, which I found to good be a well-structured tournament when I was there in February.

This is also true, fwiw.
I feel casinos can get away with less than optimal when there's a dedicated dealer making change or forcing big stacks to give up small denoms
