Is this what Ted Kaczynski felt when he started collecting scrap metal?

Excited for my Flamingo $1s to arrive so I can start my spree...

Please don’t murder Flamingos......
I'm on the other side in this case. Solid blue Flamingo $1s from Vegas are one of the most available, plentiful, and replenished chips in existence out there. Whenever I played poker at the Flamingo every couple years for the last 8-10 years or so, they seemed to have brand new solid $1 chips put into circulation each year. Inlay replace away.

Now... spotted Flamingo $1s, on the other hand -- that would be sacrilege to do an inlay replacement on. They're not making anymore spotted chips. The number of spotted $1 chips left at the casino kept decreasing each year.

I’m 100% sure mint solid blue starburst and hot stamps are out there to mill.
They are, but they’re also 2x+ what I paid, especially after getting them milled...

This was my other justification. Dime a dozen

They are solids. If this case don’t murder. I’m 100% sure mint solid blue starburst and hot stamps are out there to mill. I’ve got a few racks laying around.
I'm not so sure the starburst or hotstamp collectors here on PCF would want to see that, unless they might be starbursts used as cancellation over some other invaluable hotstamp. Mint starburst or other hot stamps might be more valuable to some than solid Flamingo $1s. But I admire your willingness to offer some of your own chips to the OP to save some other chips from inlay replacement.

Judging by the pricing, I always thought it would be more sacrilege to murder a starburst or hot stamp. While I’d never murder spotted birds, I can’t reconcile the idea of chips that go for less than 2 a chip being “murder-proof.”

And of course, cheers to @slisk250, a man of great honor and principle

I would never murder my flamingos, but the logic that they are readily available and noone should feel bad murdering them is quite sound. I still don't like the thought. ;)

Realistically, I could, but I envisioned textured labels
I too have been contemplating textured labels for milled THC solids as HSI fracs. What gives me pause is that the other chips are smooth...do I really need it to be consistent? I really want the feel of textured THC chips, maybe it’s worth the inconsistency.

I think textured is superior to smooth in every way, shape, and form when it comes to THC chips. The biggest mistake Paulson ever made was getting rid of them

Not necessarily, it's probably more cost effective for the casino to have a standard smooth round inlay. I agree they're nice for us in the home market, and shaped inlays can ad some casino security, but I dont see it being cost effective for them anymore unfortunately

I hate that flamingo $1 single spotted turd so much that I think every flamingo chip ever produced (for any location) should be cheerfully murdered to death.

I look at modern chips the same way I look at the modern Yankee Stadium:

It looks just like the original and the materials used to produce it are probably safer, but it’s entirely corporatized and geared towards profit not experience. Shame :(

Off topic, but whenever I see @FordPickup92’s new avatar, I keep thinking it’s @Taghkanic posting. :)
