I have really enjoyed milling about 1000 chips or so. I find it very enjoyable process. However the cleaning of the chips afterwards is so time consuming that it is time for me to buy an ultrasonic cleaner. I will be ordering one after Christmas but I wanted to share my experience. I have about 180 TH&C off pink/salmon/tongue coloured chips I picked up from a member. When I first got them I was hoping the cleaning process wouldn't be difficult as it is turning out to be. I wash about 20 at a time in warm to hot water with dawn soap. I then use a hard bristled toothbrush for the scrubbing which get about 95% of the grime off. I then use dental tools I picked up online for the fine cleaning of any dirt still sticking around. So much wasted time doing everything by hand.

I've cleaned some one-offs that I've gotten by hand since breaking out the U/S is not worth it for a small quantity. My god, I hate it. I know that after U/S, I'm going to need to oil, but still, I like oiling and I hate cleaning, so it's win/win for me.

I have been using this brush to clean them by hand seems to work pretty good

I too, long to have an ultrasonic, but to date, I've cleaned hundreds if not thousands of Paulsons with diamond chip cleaner (buffered TSP) and an electric toothbrush.
I don't have an ultrasonic & I am sure it would be great, but I have used this same diamond chip cleaner for 20 yrs on probably at least 10 thousand chips with excellent results. It still takes a bit of time, but it is pretty gentle while still working great. Not really recommended for collectible older chips, but great for fantasy and used casino chips that just look gross

somebody will have to check me here but when I dug deep into this for my purchase I went with the Vevor 6L which was not that much more than the 3L maybe like $120 at the time. If I recall the main reason was not the capacity but more because it had 3 transducers instead of 2 maybe? I can't remember exactly but something like an extra transducer made a big difference.

Yes, exactly this. Mine was $115 shipped from eBay. It has the extra transducer over the 3L

whats the best hard bristle brush to use when cleaning by hand anyone ?
I cleaned 3 racks by hand with a manual toothbrush and I don't plan on ever doing that again. It takes bloody ages. At the minimum use an old electric one as it will save your hands.

Wow, how long did that take per chip?
