Morning, afternoon or evening, whatever works for you.

I'm thinking of buying my first chips and I'm a bit confused!

Firstly, I'm looking to spend no more than 100 euros on the chips.

I'm thinking of hosting some cash games with a few friends (there'd be about four to six of us) and we'd do buy-ins between €5 and €20 (everyone would pay the same buy-in). I think the blinds will be 0.1€/0.2€ or 0.2€/0.2€ or rather 0.25€/0.25€.

I read this one Post about how big my Bank is going to be: 0.25€ * 100 (I dont really know what BB but i think 100 is good?) = 25 ; 25 * 3 (3 buy-ins) = 75 ; 75 * 6 = 450, so i think 300 Chips should be enough?

Now I want to know: What denomination would work here, so we can play with 5 and 20 euro buy-ins? What sort of chips should I go for? I've read that China Clays are a good, cheap option, but I'm still so confused. I look at so many chips and sets... Can you tell me where I can buy chips too? I'm in Germany.

Is there anything else you need to know?

If there's already a post in this forum that answers all my questions, just let me know. I'm not really sure how to search for it.

Welcome!

25c/25c makes more sense. 300 chips isn’t enough for a cash game. I would go:

25c x 100
€1 x 200
€5 x 200
€25 x 80-100
Add the extra 20 chips to where it makes sense. 20 x €100 for future proofing or just go with a full €25 rack. If your game is very limpy and doesn’t play big, I would consider dropping the number of €25s and adding more fracs.

Firstly, I'm looking to spend no more than 100 euros on the chips.

Good luck with that :)

€100 = $114.30 USD
I think you need to save up some more money because you're either looking at crazy wafer thin bike tires or used cards mold Tina's in that price range. And you've eliminated buying from the US unless you haven't included shipping into your price.

25c x 100
€1 x 200
€5 x 200
€25 x 80-100
If people are buying in for €25 at a time OP doesn't need so many €5s or v25s.

Realistically, how much money is going to be on the table at the end of the night? €500?

OP could get by with 100 €.25; 200 €1s; and 100 €5's which would be a bank of €725... if that's insufficient , adding 25 €25s would add €625 to the bank which would be more than plenty.

What sort of chips should I go for? I've read that China Clays are a good, cheap option, but I'm still so confused.
If your budget is €.25 or so per chip your options are pretty limited so I'd suggest looking at the China clays on Amazon. They'll get you by for a while and they're easily found if you ever need to add to your set.

https://pokershop.de is in germany
for 100 euro they have a few options of 500 chip sets with or with out denominations.

like Poker Set LAZAR - Cash Game Micro Stakes or the common blank dice chips.

You might go without the denominations if you haven't figured out your stakes yet. You will have way more flexibility in changing stakes. you just need three different color chips. You would want more in one color as the work hoarse ship and less in the third as it will always be a higher denomination.
Think in big blinds. people can buy in for 100bb or 200bb. Example each person needs 15,12,5 chips of colors (assuming each chip is *5 more in values then the next) for a 20 euro buy in at .1, .5, 2.5 chip values

How good are there, because I couldnt find any information about the chips. I think they are like Plastic? Are Dice Chips good?

Also I found out that Bullets Playing Cards makes some cheap Sets (like 120€ for 500 CHips), they claim that its Clay but I think its not...

There is a running joke about adverts and 'Casino Weight' and 'Real Clay' or Clay composite. Basically its all BS and hype. There is only 1 vendor that offers what people would consider clay, that would be CPC.

Are Dice Chips good?
This is a question for you to answer. 99% of the people on this website would say no.

BUT this is a HUGE RED FLAG, if you don't know if Dice Chips are good or not, you don't need to have a budget for chips. What you need is a basic setup.

I typically wouldn't advocate for fewer than 600 chips, but if you're not going to have 9 players and you're not sure you want to jump in with both feet, here's my advice.

The most important aspect of a friendly poker game is the people. The next thing that will make a difference is the table, then chairs, and then chips, but cards have an impact and are easier to afford.

I would say find a decent topper, you can search this site and find rjdev7 - who sells custom toppers, I would get one of these, and some nice plastic playing cards, copaqs will fit the bill.

I think the topper would be about 200 bucks, the cards will be about 30 bucks, you'll be able to pick up enough dice chips to run a game for about 55 bucks. Select a drink that you think everyone will enjoy and invest in high-quality ingredients. Get some chips and dip, and invite everyone over. Have a great time. If it turns into something recurring and people start to get serious about poker, you'll know, and that is when you'll want to buy nicer gear.

A decent value set, rock bottom entry point Tina chips will likely cost you around 250 USD and if you're looking to break the bank on chips you can spend something like 20k on a Lakeshore set or some other unique experience.

You need a starting point, buy a topper some plastic cards and some crappy cheap as you can find dice chips or borrow some. Enjoy the time with the people, and work up from there.

Its a journey, don't chopper in to the top of the mountain.

They are the cheep chips, but they serve a purpose and at the end of the night you will still have a fun poker night with friends. The pokershop.de just allows you to build your own set with the colors you want for €70, that's why I mentioned them, till you figure out what works for your group.

Bullets Playing Cards chips are step up, the "Corrado" without values ones will be very flexible for you.
I'd personally go with Slowplays without denominations, ceramics are a nice option. Your never getting a true "clay" chip for under €3 per chip.

its its just 4-6 handed 300 chip set will be fine, if you budget can go up to €200 for some nicer chips. I get people like alots of chips in front of them. but you dont need to start a home game with 50 each 6 handed...

He's lying! If you play with dice chips, you will have nothing more than pain and misery and the very Hounds of Hell will be unleashed. To imply anything different is factually...no, *morally*...unsound.

Are their Clay Chips also good enough? Are there differences between the Bullets, I mean I could think they are better quality. Because I have like 20€ shipping fee and it's genuinely not that nice to export from that far away. If smth. is broken, I will have a lot of trouble sending it back etc etc.

I don't actually want to spend 200. I want to buy a set, to "try" (we know the Rules and also the basic) Poker with my friend. It's for the first evenings until we decide to get real nice chips...

its up to you to decide what is nice.
Go to pokershop.de and you can buy chips individually before making a bigger purchase.
Buy a "HELL FIRE" dice chip for 0.17, buy a Majestic 'Clay" for 0.70 to see for your self. Grab a few that catch your eye too!

I said that once. And before I knew it, I had spent 20,000.
Holy Sh...
I think I have enough Options now, I just want to know this ->
One more question about Tina's: What are all these Post where People Post like photos of Chips and want to sell them?

Like this.

And is there a post explaining there different types of mold or what mold even is
