That was a concern of mine. The glass is thick and only holding enough from each set to display while the remaining racks are in the solid wood drawers below.

Random…

Thoughts on the acrylic cages? Are the handles sturdy enough to carry 25-35 lbs? Or should I just buy a big 1000ct case or versa???

I have had no issues with the acrylic birdcage and I have taken my chips on the road several times. There were issues ive heard about where there was only a single screw holding the handle to the bottom plate and you need to look for the ones that have 2 screws. Well i have two 1000 count and two 400 count birdcages and couldnt tell you if they have 1 or 2 screws because i never looked and you cant find out when ordering anyway. I would suggest for total safety and protection to purchase the Versa birdcage case:

There are six latches and the foam in the lid ensure the chips aren't going to move around at all even if you're using open racks (I recommend Justin racks for the ultimate safety). It's makes for a compact package that feels like a cinder block but oddly it doesn't feel as heavy as the Versa briefcase type case:

This thing is cumbersome to lug around and it takes both hands to set it down on a table. It's footprint also requires more space in a trunk area when traveling as opposed to either the Acrylic or Versa birdcages. For storage purposes at least you can lay it down and stack another on top where with the birdcage you cannot stack anything on top due to the handles. I hope that helps you make your decision.

I’ve also taken my show on the road, and the Versa 1000 carrier is tops in my book! It’s solid, feels well built, and with a handle that feels as though it was designed to actually hold them all.

Haven’t tried the “flat” case style, but I’d be inclined towards the Versa product.

Pro tip: these stores always have measuring tapes for sale. Go to that aisle first then you can ensure your new "tool box" is appropriate for Chips.

*if I had less chips it would fit everything. It does hold my largest cash set, two tourney sets + plaques, cards, and accessories including buttons etc... over 11k chips etc...great for home games ;)
Ha! Interesting stacking the chips vertical!

Ha! Interesting stacking the chips vertical!
I could fit 6 standard racks across each drawer, vertical with the stacking racks I can fit 11 across. Some drawers are not tall enough for stacked standard racks (36mm chips can be stacked, not 39mm though too tall). Thus i have 1 drawers with 1100 HSI's, 1100 36mm cinci, 1600 36mm majestic star, and 2 large drawers with the balance of HSIs and 47mm accessory chips. Top drawers holding plaques, 600 36mm chips in standard trays and dealer buttons/cash box in the top lid section. Further drawers holding cards and a few larger dealer buttons.

Not fitting here are
The acdc game school chips (thank you)
A large majestic star 36mm set
A small majestic star cash set
Nexgen and another slugged set of chips and My customs sloth club chips.
