Did this guy sell me this single chip for $51, charge $2.67 for shipping, drop it in a #10 envelope and send it first class?
Yup.

All's well that ends well

I'm a mite confused. I don't see a $51 chip in the picture. Was it a promotional chip?

And to answer your question directly - I'd probably ship it in an airtite placed in a bubble mailer since I haven't heard of too many $51 chips out there.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I paid $51 for the $500 chip. I was happy to pay it because it's the first one I've ever seen for sale. I have no idea what it's "worth."

Need a $1k chip? I have one. It's filthy (maybe beyond cleanable). It won't be cheap.
I feel like I saw you list a $1k on eBay a while back and I don't remember it being filthy.
To answer your question, yes I need one. But I try to use house money for these silly purchases. Next time I bink a tournament, I'll hit you up.
Hopefully you'll hear from me Sunday.

Hmmm... you sure that envelope wasn't empty?!

At the very least, I'd light him up on comments. Others should now how poorly he packages his shipments before they overpay for shipping too.

I thought a lot about it. I guess a guy who throws a chip into an envelope like that is either an asshole or an idiot. I'm kind of an optimist, so I'd rather assume he's an idiot. Hopefully an idiot who can learn. So I didn't burn him to the ground. I wrote "Gorgeous casino chip, just as described. Next time, go with a padded envelope!"

Glad your chip made it to you safely. Looks like he needs a few lessons on packaging chips safely!

Glad it made it. I recently purchase a Disney Big Figure for $700. The figure came in two separate boxes. The base with 5 sides of foam (6 sides to a box) and the base wrapped in bubble wrap. Needless to say it was in many pieces. The main part came wrapped in what seemed to be at least one mile of bubble wrap. Unfortunately they did not support one of the arms of the figure so it came in damaged. Got lucky but felt sorry for the seller. It was insured but they are still jacking with the post office. I received a full refund with no quarrels.

Lol packaging, but man that five hundo is nice! The whole lineup is super sick actually. What does the 1k look like?

I was just laughing at needing a knife and 2 mins to get through the taped envelope, bubble wrapped box, and bubble wrap double taped chip sitting on padding for a live Bellagio $100 I bought that is worn, grimey and beat to shit. Too bad we didn't trade sellers haha.

Gorgeous chip though!

Was the chip just dropped in without any wrapping inside or at least it was bubble wrapped inside that envelop?

No padding or packaging of any sort. Mailed coast to coast. And as you can see from the picture, that chip was probably a couple of hours from busting right out of that envelope.

The $1k and $5k are 43mm. I've seen a couple of $1k's - @links_slayer and I think I read that @Gear has one? I don't think I've ever seen a $5k. I read an old old post on the blue wall an eBay seller who claimed to have complete sample sets, but people thought that was sketchy.

That's what worries me about buying higher end chips on eBay. You never know what you will end up receiving, or if the seller packages them properly. Loving the chip though!

I just bought 5 very hard to find Le Cove $500's (mint) off of eBay. Package arrived today.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Followed by

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

The chips were dropped lose in a ziplock sandwich bag and then placed in a white business envelope. No plastic wrap, no bubble wrap, no tape, no cardboard, nothing. I picked up the envelope and immediately heard the clanging.

To my surprise, no visible damage that I've noticed yet, but seriously.

(And 5 more Le Coves rescued and brought back to the forum)

It boggles the mind doesn't it? Like I said above, you'd have to be an idiot or an asshole to ship chips in an envelope with no protection. And I'm leaning toward idiot 100%. Because even if you're an asshole and don't care about the buyer, you should still be smart enough to care about your own self interests to realize if the chips are damaged in shipment, you're losing your money and your chips. But honestly, who is that dumb?
I have to defer to Carlin on this one. "Think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are stupider than that."
