How many sets do you have over 4000 chips in size (1 Viewer)

I never thought about the need to have a big set. They just grew. My custom ASM is made up of many denominations , it's not made up of 1000
5's or something like that. The Desert Palms grew because I wanted to be able to host a big tournament , and I love them, so since , well, I guess I have a problem, it was easy to add on. The PCA is also made up of Roulettes, so if you are just talking cash , it's in the 3k range. The Condado Plaza cic set is beautiful, hard not to buy more, but it also has some Roulettes, about 1400, but if you know the Condado Plaza chips, there are a ton of different denoms, and I had to have them all to mix and match different cash and tourney sets, no one denom is over 400 chips and at almost 6800 chips, you can see how there must be a lot of different types of chips. When I finally get more chips than Todd @The Chip Exchange , I will take over as the CEO of Condado Plaza

Just 1...I think.

I haven't counted my Samurais and Legends of the West in a long time, but I'm pretty sure they're in the 2.5k to 3k range.

This would take a couple of minutes for even an experienced dealer to count correctly

It’s a fair point. In my game, we have one reg whose day job is construction, but happens to be an absolute math whiz.

He can look at a pot and see it like an AI would. He’s particularly awesome at complicated chops in PLO8. People sometimes challenge his calculations, but they always regret it.

Every game needs one guy like that.

None, and I honestly can’t imagine any future scenario which would ever call for me to own such a large set either.

My largest set (Aurora Star cash) has approx. 1300 chips, and even that Is far bigger than I’ll ever need in 95% of my games. I just wanted one set that could cover 2 tables in the event I ever host a small meetup or for rare times our cash game gets that much interest for a given week.

Also if someone busts and rebuys (in either cash or a tourney), I find they are usually happier getting a usable breakdown, rather than a bunch of big chips they have to get change for from the table.
They are idiots and idiots are generally happier. If I just lost a couple of buyins in one hand, just give me a few big chips, and let me seethe in my anger, while I put out a $20 or $25 for my twenty-five cent blind. Let the dealer fix it.

BTW beautiful collection Patrick, even saw some non chippers checking out chips and asking chip questions. I like seeing all of the chips on display but man having all your cash sets out there with 25 people in the basement definitely gave me an uneasy feeling. Hopefully never any issues of sticky fingers, but even when we do this in Ohio, I am always watching chips like a hawk!
Thanks Ben! That’s cool that people were asking questions! That’s the first step in a process that culminates in owning a multi-thousand chip sets.

I don’t have any crazy valuable sets like you and Brie, so I don’t worry as much. I also don’t worry about cash chips dissapearing. I’d notice if they did and most of my security comes from set rotation anyway since the chips are out there. Around strangers and not friends I’d be waaaaaay more careful.

That’s so funny and it actually happened last night when a player insisted on using a rebuy $20 chip as his .25 small blind just to be difficult. I thought it was hysterical although some of the OCD players might have been triggered.

Nothing wrong with being Humble brother... but you have compiled an amazing collection of chips sir! Again most of our stuff gets cased up and it is a chore to get them out to look at them, so usually they just stay cased. Definitely cool almost overwhelming seeing all of your treasures on display.

You have a well rounded collection too! Paulson, High end plastics (still wantto play Matsui some day so count us in for one of those nights) several ASM/CPCs, limit, ceramics... didn't notice any BCC so minus 1 point! Lol

The display cabinets on the wall with tons of samples. Just a cool set up. Should have snuck a couple pics for the online folks, but was very nice! Much better than looking at this

Very astute! On my list to pick up one of these at some point! They are still accessible whereas TRKs not so much lol

The matsuis will make appearances this spring. I'll prob do a tourney on the wps then cash on emerald bays. I can handle plenty of volume on those sets.

Zero Set and foreseen will be 0 till I kick the bucket.

As I bought them for usage, I will prefer 8 set of 500/600 Poker chips over 1 set of 4000 Poker chips

My group or my house are not massive enough for games that use more than 600 chip too

My Bud Jones S2 Big Easy Casino set just crossed 4000

320 - 25¢ (relabels, so not included in total)
2700 - $1
900 - $5
300 - $25
220 - $100
Total: 4120 chips

I have been reluctant to share this because these chips do not come up for sale in the classifieds often and I don't want to be price gouged, but I'm pretty close to the finish line.

None.

I’ll never reach such a number.

I’m not faint of heart in this hobby either, I’ve got 15 sets, mostly cash and a few tourney, but I can’t see myself reaching 4000.

I don’t have any good/legitimate reasons that I would ever have this many chips in a single set for my typical use. Doesn’t mean I couldn’t find some bad/illegitimate reasons to do so.

Yeah I’ve done the math every which way and I just can’t get there for myself. Mostly because I can’t imagine I’d ever host more than one cash table. So even a crazy-indulgent multi-stakes cash set isn’t going over what, 1200 chips? Maybe 1400. I suppose I could add on another 1,000 for a limit set. And yeah, I suppose I could see myself hosting a big tournament that was 3 tables of 8 but that’s still only another 1,000 max.
So even if I went the whole 9 yards with every kind of format I’d ever need in the same set, I’m still maxing myself out around 3400 chips.
