How many chips do you own? (3 Viewers)

The custom cabinet i once built is no longer sufficient  .. +6k somewhere.. I need to stop:LOL: :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:.

In the almost 2 years since I joined PCF, I’ve purchased over 8500 chips. I currently own around 5000 chips.

1000 - Tournament set
1000 - Cash set
1000 - Limit set
1200 - Vintage sets
700 - Shuffle stacks
300 - Singles
200 - Set extras and misc

Buying singles has little or no appeal. I’m unable to discern from a single chip if it has appeal. In some cases it’s just another chip, many of which look the same to me.

What does appeal are barrels. The edge spot colours and designs for me bring the chips to life, hence the logic behind owning sets. There are so many to choose from so this is looking like softly softly catchee monkey.
I recall someone saying they collect barrels rather than sets. Would get a much larger variety of chips that way rather than by sets. Doing that you could make sets of one rack with five barrels each of a different denomination. May look cool on display.

All numbers are approximate.

CPC Sunsets- 1000
CPC Hot Stamped Bourbons - 1100
Paulson Faro - 840
Paulson Foxwoods - 750
Paulson MGM Fracs - 200
BRPRO Parks and Rec - 750
BCC Mardi Gras/Riverboat limit set - 1550

I think that is it.

Probably to many sets for only hosting once a year.

The sunsets usually only hit the felt once a year. @mike32 makes my day when he requests that these hit the felt. Thank you!

The BRPRO chips will mostly be used for board games. They might have to hit the table during my meet up. I put @p5woody through the ringer with this design process. Thanks! you did a great job!

No matter at what stage of my chipping journey, I always find my chip collection somewhere in between more than what I need & less than what I want.

I like that idea. Never thought of that. Certainly something to consider.

I'd certainly look into it. Something like my Limit Set. Where I'm always looking at changing barrels out. Collecting barrels and making them into a limit set has been rewarding for me. 4 racks of Atlantic City $1s, 4 of White House Mold, 4 of Blue House Mold, 4 of White THC, 4 of Blue THC and a back of $20s, all different barrels.

OH Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee donkey ! What have I got myself into?!

The numbers above are staggering including the link from @jamesjkim. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. To be excited or frightened for the road that lies ahead.

Do they become ornaments? Do you take them out of the cupboard, rub with a cloth and put them back?

However, after following a few well known members on here for a couple of weeks I have made a decision to hopefully get involved in the purchase of a small quantity of hybrids to kick start to impending addiction, by narrowing my choices down to just 14 of my favourite sets !

Not sure how I’m going to cope with the transatlantic shipping costs or the wait between arrivals, but here goes.

Wish me luck!
Most of my chips get felted at some point. Unless their in the "Project" stage.

I do find it intriguing that someone who isn't and doesn't seem to have plans to host is considering getting into buying sets. It makes MUCH more sense to me for someone like you to get into buying singles. Especially with your comment of being "drawn into the colorful designs being almost hypnotic".

Or: Sample sets.

20 "sets"
14 playable
4 playable cash sets with a total bank of $24,641.50 (our typical buy-in is $30, but it 's good to plan ahead, right?)
6 tourney sets with a total "bank" of 55,731,480, and starting at T5

11,872 chips total, not counting singles, samples, buttons, or chips I'm ashamed that I still have in my possession.

I did this 5 years ago. I have 100 barrels of live Nevada $1 chips in 2 acrylic birdcages. I subbed out a few casinos with time as others ceased to operate.
