I'm working on putting my first .25/.50 game together with some friends. I have a set of Pharaoh CCs 150x .25s, 250x 1s, 275x 5s, and 25x 25s. The buy in will be $25-50, just wondering what starting stacks work best. At the game I was playing in we just had a bunch of dice chips that we counted all as quarters regardless of color. This made the game play a little looser since you had shitloads of stacks in front of you. Was hoping to keep the same kind of feel to the game with more secure/nicer chips.

Sounds like you should get all the low denoms in play fast.

$0.25/$1/$5 = 12/22/(0-5) for $25-$50 stacks

You could give the first 7 players 20/20/x (5x$5, if buying in for $50), then the last few buyins get a barrel of ones and however many fives, and make change when they sit at the table.

This is how I handle it. I have 200x0.25 & 200x1. After I have given out 10 buy-ins at the table, I pass out all 5s. If the table gets really deep, start passing out 25s and have them make change with someone at the table.
