I've seen @NotRealNameNoSir liken people's love for KEM to the emperor's new clothes, and to me that's a perfect analogy. I don't understand how anyone likes them, much less is willing to take out a 2nd mortgage to buy them.
This is the exact comment I'm referring to …to refresh your memory. The analogy is absurd and makes zero sense in this context…like really dumb …but would imply that people who like Kems only like them because they are expensive or that casinos use them or some other reason other than genuinely likening them.

No one is afraid to mention the issue with them. As a matter of fact Kems are often talked about in the context of their feel being worth the small extra storage effort to keep them flat. At $23 a set up and even $30 (which I never paid) they were worth it to me and many other. They are not at $70….actually no card is worth $70 no mater how great it feels

Also, your comment about price was in the present tense….as in people buyin them now….which is not anyone I know off current recommendation

I still have Kem Arrow and Casino Club setups that haven't bowed. I store them with a cut card and china clays from a sample set on top to keep them flat.
Good cards, I like them enough to use them in rotation with my Copag Elite, Broken Arrow, WSOP Fournier, et al.
When they finally wear out or bow, I'll take them out of the rotation, and won't be replacing them at current prices.
That's all. That's the post.

I don't know why you keep bringing up the fact that casinos use Kem. I don't care if every card room in the entire world uses Kem, it has absolutely no bearing on whether I like them or not. It is entirely irrelevant to my opinion of the cards. I'm not trying to convince you of the value of Faded Spade because Hustler and The Lodge use that brand, because it simply doesn't matter. You're entitled to your opinion. You don't like Faded Spade and that's okay.

Yes, my comment was using the present tense because I'm referring to the current price of Kem cards. You've now said yourself that you AGREE with me that paying current Kem prices is dumb, regardless of their quality, which makes it all the more befuddling why you're even trying to argue with me at all. You don't need to get bent out of shape because someone has a different preference of playing cards than you do.

Ok…now you are just deflecting. You are all over the place with new strawman arguments

The Emperors clothes and cost comment was absurd. You can’t spin it

I like the vintage kems with the cool artwork bcuz unlikely someone will have that exact deck to 'bring in their own ace' and slip it in haha one way to prevent cheating.
