New here and I’m just organizing a home game after moving to a new location and no longer have a dedicated poker table. No room for a dedicated table so wondering about the possibility of putting a rubber/felt mat on top of dining table? I see many available on Amazon.

Any opinions about this plan or reviews of decent mats?

Thanks

@rjdev7 is the go to guy for this. You can get a custom size and either a stock or custom design, which will fit your table perfectly.

They are good as is, but if you want a little extra plushness, you can also put a small pad underneath like padded cabinet/drawer liner and they are perfect for your application.

Thanks I’ll look into those toppers! First game may be too soon for a custom, but sounds like the best option. The forum recommended some additional related threads that I will explore as well.

Well it will be a huge surprise and upgrade for your second home game if you don't tell the crew that ones or two are on order!!! ha ha

Leaning toward getting the triton 80x38 topper that’s 4mm thick. Just about perfect size and immediately available

Welcome to the forum!!

I am in the same boat as you, no room for a dedicated poker table in my home. I use a dining room table, and got a table topper off amazon to start. It worked great and everyone loved it. And no sharp noise of chips hitting the wood.

After a while, I upgraded to the @rjdev7 that @Tonysquander recommended. Definitely an upgrade and the players loved it. You don't need to do right away if money is a consideration and you are not sure what you want. But he can design what you can imagine, or maybe stock.

I also recommend a pad under your table topper, I got one and it made a big difference. Velora foam from American Gaming supply is what I got and works great. Players appreciate it! Let me know if you want a link.

Keep your eye's peeled for if/when @Tommy does a group buy for the PCF toppers. They will pop up in marketplace but rarely and they go fast.

Fake Aces sold these (with carrying case) for $25 about a year ago but none available atm.

Thanks. I searched the marketplace for the PCF and none currently available. Will watch for a group buy

I’ll definitely plan to get an rjdev7 topper as an upgrade if the game gets established

I can’t believe nobody around here has started selling pads that are thick enough that you don’t need to buy a pad to put under the pad you bought.

If it’s not too much trouble a link to the pad would be great

You are welcome. Show us a picture after you get it all set up!
Sure thing!

Next up… need to figure out chips for the upcoming game….

I will likely do the group buy that Justin posts but will need a set in the interim
