Every couple months or so, I visit the holdempokerchips website, mostly to see how the Mardi Gras chip inventory is doing and if the price is still $1.60 a chip. For a year, very few of the chips sold and the price never changed.

A few weeks ago I visited and noticed the site was closed for inventory and maintenance.

Today it is the same way. Does anybody know anything more than what is announced? Did one of you buy him out? Just curious.

That’s a new development. I was on there a few days ago and it was fine. The shipping they charge really tacks on a lot if you just want a few barrels of chips. That’s what deters me

I wonder how many T-mold blanks are available and which colors are left? I’ll definitely be watching to see when they open the site back up.

How do you know this

I still get closed for inventory

I have a direct link to the t-mold page in my bookmarks. It gets me to the rest of the site from there.

Not sure why but the Mardi Gras never got the love they deserved. Maybe the pricing was perceived as too high back when they were released? By today's clay market pricing, $1.59 is a steal imo.

Beautiful chips indeed though I’d guess the oversized inlay and split spot issues to be the culprit

I have some sad news to report.

Michael Patton (aka @MSPatton), owner of HoldemPokerChips, past away unexpectedly in November.
I've only spoken to Michael a few times and made a couple of purchases from him over the years. He definitely did a lot for our hobby. I'm sure many here knew him much better than I did. Please share any stories you may have in honor of Michael. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

Sad news. I ordered from him a few times for Mardi Gras, but never knew him personally. RIP

RIP MSPatton. You brought us some nice chips!

Sux. He will be missed. He brought a lot of chips to the community. RIP Michael.

Sad news. Didn't know him, but it looks like he was an influential and respected member of the custom chip community. RIP, Mr. Patton.
He did a whole lot before BCC closed up shop, and not much after. Lots of chipcos and BCC offerings once upon a time if I remember right.

That's a lot of pretty nice chips. Hope his family made a bundle on the auction; most of those would have sold like hotcakes here.

RIP, Michael. We'll miss you. I always thought you were a straight shooter, and you did a great deal for the chipping community.

Nice post @navels but this recent thread update isn't about scoring a dead guys poker chips. Its disrespectful IMO. Now I know what those extremely vague text messages from @MegaTon44 were about.

With that much nice inventory, it would not surprise me if a vendor here got them.
