Hey all.

I did my half-decade check in to see what was happening on Chiptalk.net and found it was deceased. Apparently this is the place to go, now. Who knew!

I haven't played poker seriously in a little while now but had fun jetting around the world to play in tourneys when I did. I'm not a chip collector but I accidentally got my hands on a desirable set many moons ago so I like to keep an eye on the chip forums to see what's going on there.

Hey all. So about the chips, funny story. This was a good decade and a half ago and as I was playing poker at the time I wanted a decent quality set of clay chips to run some home games. Hard to come by in the UK at the time but I found a place selling ex-casino top hat and canes in the US and was visiting my cousin in New York a few weeks later so I put ordered a small, 300 chip playset of UK relevant denominations and sent them to her. Only I forgot to mention it to her. As it happens she had a very bad case of flu and wasn't really with it when they were delivered. She opened a package addressed to her and inside were THOUSANDS of dollars worth of seemingly valid casino chips. She spent an afternoon stacking these chips in a semi delirious state trying to work out WTF was going on. It wa sonly when I turned up at her door asking if they'd arrived that she finally twigged what was going on. And punched me in the arm

I'll grab some pics later. The case is buried in the bottom of a cupboard under a load of games as we moved recently. They're Crystal Parks, btw.
