Not intended as a dig on @Anthony Martino, but 4 U.S. Code § 8(d) says, "the flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery." Does this mean an actual flag (like people who wear them as capes)? Or does it include representations of the flag? I've heard that only military and law enforcement are permitted to wear the flag, but I have not authority for that. Retailers make a killing (especially this time of year) selling patriotic clothing with the flag on it.
Any LEOs or military with insight?
