I have a set of Celebration chips, but they only go from $5, $25, to $100. I have the numbers to run them as a a series of heads up matches, or a single table tournament - freezeout.

I am considering adding a small amount of chips to make it playable as a 2-3 person craps set.
I am extremely undecided on which way to go for a 50c/$1, and love to hear opinions from the community.

Chip Qualifications
  • At this moment, I don't want to relabel chips into a Celebration 50c/$1.
  • Since the Celebrations are from 5-100, I'd only want 1 other casino as the 50c/$1.
  • Both chips would need to be leaded, THC and able to be found in VG+ condition to match the Celebrations.
  • I'd probably need 60-100 $1s and potentially 2-5 50c (eventually).

Ideas:
Initially I was thinking that a Cruise/Boat/destination island (Bahamas) might keep with the idea that Celebration was probably a Cruise set.
But I've also been thinking maybe if I matched it with a fantasy/home series set, that might also work well, since Celebration might be a fantasy series.
But I'm open to any suggestion/discussion, but it has to be a light/white inlay or possibly hotstamps.

A few suggestions were:

Riverboat: Casino Aztar MO is really interesting, though both shape inlays are repeated on the $5 and $25. And the $1 might be a little too matchy matchy to the $5 for me.

Home series: leaded and actually a pretty fun inlay. The 50c having such a complex edge spot always threw me off.

Hotstamp: WW is interesting, I love hotstamps, but I'd prefer for the $1 to have edge spots.

I know I said 1 casino, but I really like the look of the Norwegian Cruise Line 50c. Not a fan of any of their $1s.

The denom is red, but the shape of the lettering is at least similar to the celebration.

Love PCA2 50c, not thrilled about the RHC $1...but it is interesting.
That Silver Star is classy in it's simplicity, that could be a great option.

That 414 Scandia is great. Is there a Scandia 50c?

The shaped inlay of the PCA frac is a huge plus, but to me, the fracs spot pattern doesn't fit. And the RHC $1 has to kill the deal.
The SIlver Stars are a better effort - I'm good with a hot stamp frac, but I think you'd be doing the Celebrations a huge disservice by pairing them with a hot stamp $1. Also the 312 isn't the worst, but I think a 412 inlaid $1 would be perfect.

The Aztars aren't bad. I think the spot patterns work. And although in a perfect world, you'd have all different inlay shapes, I'm not sure how much repeating inlay shapes would bother me. I think most people would never notice, and I might not even notice. But the Aztar $1's are a tough score. Do you have a source you'd like to share . . .
I agree aout the Lecove's - otherwise perfect except for that crazy fancy frac

My original advice was to mill a bright solid and relabel a leaded blue chip like Scandia, VLV, or CDI.
The shaped inlay of the PCA frac is a huge plus, but to me, the fracs spot pattern doesn't fit.
2V then 3 or 4 spot $1 then 4d14 $5 seems pretty common. What other spot pattern do you think would work better?

Also the 312 isn't the worst, but I think a 412 inlaid $1 would be perfect.
Know of any 412 inlaid $1s in quantity?

As I was typing that, I almost added - are there any? No, I can' think of any.
I guess I'm just biased against the 2V pattern because I hate it. But to me, it just doesn't work well with spots that aren't pointy.
I agree that milling and relabeling would be the easiest way to find something that works, but I'm assuming OP is trying to avoid that?

About the $1 being a great spot pattern? No I'm not. I like that it's 4, but 2 are simpler. I know you don't like V spots though.
Are you joking? It's a difficult, but not impossible chip to blend well with the rest of a set, but that spot pattern and chip in particular is awesome.

I won't support the yellow inlay though
No, i meant the yellow inlay. That would rule out those chips (for me) before any other considerations.

Keep up the search; I hope you find the perfect fit, and I'll let you know if I come across anything. But my guess is that the best solutions will be:
1) relabel
2) abandon the project
3) all other options

I agree the yellow inlay is pretty weird in this lineup, so is probably not going to work here.

I know I can find chips to relabel, but I was just trying to brainstorm some existing possibilities.

Other suggestions? PCA RHC$1 won't work. FLV being a yellow inlay won't work here either.

Long shot, but RVCL might be my favorite in the lineup.

I think the NYNY $1 would look great with a hot-stamped solid quarter (preferably hot pink or canary yellow).

That's definitely true and I went almost exactly that way too, but in my other recently finished set. It has relabeled NYNY $1s with canary yellow quarters. My other set also has a 4d14 red $5.:D Pretty spot on.

I didn't mention my other set, but I should add it to my qualifications that I want different chips in this lineup for variety.

Edit: Oh I don't think the NYNY$1s are leaded either.
