Help removing sticker on Inlay (2 Viewers)

I know this has probably been asked a million times but I couldn't find a thread for this specifically.

I have these roulette chips that have a 5 cent label on them. How can I safely remove the label without damaging the inlay underneath?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i have the same situation as I want to relabel my set that is already overlabeled. I imaged just removing them with tweezers, but i havent tried yet

What worked for me was using a utility / x-acto knife. You just gotta get right under the edge of the label and it should peel right up.

i tried peeling one and it kept tearing up. I wasn't sure if soaking in any solution would help.

Is it paper underneath the laminate, or a thin vinyl? If vinyl, fill the recess with non-acetone nail polish remover with an eye dropper for 20-30 seconds . It should peel out without too much issue. Might need to lightly scrape the remaining pieces of vinyl.
If it’s paper, good luck…I’ve read those are nothing but trouble.

I think you're answering the wrong question. That advice is great if you're removing the factory inlays, but I don't think that's what OP is doing.

If you've got a label over the original inlay, it'll likely just peel right off. If it's tearing when you try to peel it off, then I guess it's paper? Soaking in some lukewarm water (NOT HOT water) will likely let you get most of the paper off, and if there's some adhesive residue, use isopropyl alcohol to get that off. IMO don't use Goo Gone -- it works but the chip will absorb it a little bit, and it's smelly.

Don't start at the edge -- the labels are going to be destroyed by removing them, so there's no need to risk damaging the chip near the edge of the label. Just (GENTLY) slice through the label in the middle somewhere, and peel it up from there.


BTW I'm 99% sure those are not my labels, so I'm kinda making generic suggestions based on other labels I've seen.

yes, I believe they are paper. I will try this method and fingers crossed they come off easier.

If there is any residue remaining, use goo gone to soak the remaining label, and it will easily scrape off then.

You are 100% correct, I goofed...I misread it as removing a Paulson inlay.
