Waiting for a couple of racks to arrive that I purchased recently. I plan to order some Flamingo LV laminated labels from Gear.

The chips have been milled and about 60% already have gear labels that I need to remove and the rest are blank.

Was curious if there are any bonding issues after milling? Rough surface etc?

Also, when removing existing gear labels on THC does everyone attack from the side or through the center to remove? Trying to avoid damaging the inner ring when removing old labels.

Always attack through the center. The label is going to be ruined by the process of removing it, so you might as well not risk ruining the edge of the inlay recess, too!

How did your removal process go? Any tips?

I still don’t have the chips in my possession but hoping to have them next month. Friend of mine in Maine has them and hasn’t come back yet

I didn’t have any bonding issues, the Gear adhesive is very good, and after the label is on for a day or so, it cures to hold even better.
With the milling, I used a Magnate bit that left a tiny nub in the very center of the recess. When a label is placed on it, it wasn’t perfectly flat, so a scrape of that little nub is required. Just check the recess after milling, and if it’s not perfectly flat/smooth, it may “telegraph” through the label.
If you can feel any imperfections before the label is put on, it may not be flat enough.

My previous labelling was done using the over label method so the labels themselves weren’t laminated.

Any difference using laminated? Is the label a bit more solid or equally flexible etc as non laminated?

With laminated, the labels are definitely more rigid and don’t have as many issues with the surface beneath.
