Hi, happy to be here!
I am from the UK originally, but live in NZ, I been to the States a few times, played poker in LA, North Cal and a few private games. Been playing since the early 2000's, like everyone right? Play a regular community game here and also a home game at my house on a weekly basis. NLHE tourneys are fun, but I prefer a dealer chooses mixed cash game really.
I have recently been looking at upgrading my chips from the crappy 14gm slugged plastic nonsense I have to something a little more classy, man, what a minefield!!!! Only joking, but like anything when you take it to its pinnacle, it becomes a science. Here in NZ it is not really possible to get high quality stuff without importing it, so here I am. I have been doing a deep dive into the subject, spent an hour or 3 with AI last night designing a full set on CPC, then realised how much it was going to cost. So I am hoping I can maybe be a part of this forum, and once my good standing has been recognised and you guys trust me enough, hopefully I can do a deal for one of the sweet sets I see in the classified section and start raising the game a little over here. Thanks in advance!

Welcome! Enjoy the ride. I'm sure you'll have new chips inbound in no time

Welcome to the forum!

While you are waiting to access the other parts of the forum, you may want to read through @Machine ’s thread on chip set breakdown (especially if your mixed cash games will be Pot Limit or No Limit):

thanks for the advice, I will do that right now

Welcome!

Have you seen any of the posts about different circus games?

Care to share any of the AI-generated chips? Most of the time, they are really bad and fun to tear apart lol - It's also the wrong approach to designing chips imo.

Jumping into the deep end of the pool when you are trying to learn to swim isn't for everyone ;)
You might start with a BR Pro or Apache set. You could find a pre-loved set or custom-design your own. After you've created and played with your first set you learn so much about yourself and your preferences, others' suggestions, what you would change ... etc

I would suggest starting lean on the chips, maybe 4 denoms, and letting $100 bills play on the table if needed.

Welcome!
My wife and I spent 6 months in Wellington a long time ago.
Got to see the South Island and took a plane ride to (near) the top of Mt. Cook.
If I could figure out how to move to NZ permanently I would
