nice! i really want to hit the outer banks one of these years. the sad part is, i'm really not that far away.

What part of panama? If it's Panama City maybe you could swing by Elite 2 and see if Cinnamon still works there. She's an old flame from my Navy days
Lived in Panama City, RdeP for almost three years back in the day. It was there I met the minister of gaming -- Hector Torijos, brother of the chief junta dictator Gen. Omar Torrijos. It was a pleasant relationship as he liked me and arranged for me to have a blank check at all the Casino Nacionales casinos. and included all entertainment and food. I will post additional casinos as time permits, but these are a few of the keepsakes I brought back. For fishermen, Gatun Lake has some of the world's largest Peacock Bass on a "catch-n-release" basis.

Nice reels...would be a tough match for Peacock bass. They would test you from the "get-go"
i do love the peacock bass fishing! wish i had time this trip to chase 'em!

yeah, hopefully one of those will be my new tuna/mahi reel (30-50# braid with a mono top shot). we mostly get school fish in the 20-40# range, but get tuna up to 100# and mahi up to 60#.

bump it up for a new reel :tup::tup:

I like the fight when using an open face reel. However, for the Peacocks and large black bass, I prefer Shimano bait casting reels. In Panama there is another great game fish called the Corbina by the locals. Great fighting fish and really delicious when made in cervechi. They can be caught off Amador, just opposite of the Thatcher Bridge that spans the canal.

love me some corvina. day one will be bottom fishing in chame for corvina, snook, and snapper. for those i have a shimano torium 16.

That's sounds like a plan. Hope you have a place to cook them. We used to take fresh fish to the restaurants and they would fix for us for a slight charge.
