Yeah, in the past I’ve done a lot of side by side comparisons of similar chips. But that isn’t even always necessary. Sometimes the difference is subtle, but sometimes it’s striking. The sound is the most noticeable trait, in my opinion. But the feel can be pretty noticeable too. I’m not sure why you don’t want me to say buttery, because that’s a good descriptor, at least for worn in leaded chips. The leaded clay just has a bit of a different feel. I think it’s softer.

“moist”?

I think buttery is an excellent description of leaded THC chips. They definitely resist edge damage.

That’s funny because the Paris $1s and Flamingos feel great to me compared to other newer THC and you’re right they are heavy (close to 10g).

They didn’t feel any better to me than other lead I have handled that is in that weight category.

The Paris $1s aren’t leaded, fwiw. But there could be lots of different feels. I don’t know how many times Paulson has changed its clay formulas, but it wouldn’t shock me if you told me they were using a different recipe in 2020 than they did in 2010.

It’s just I feel all worn in THC have that buttery feeling. And the only difference I can tell is the weight at that point.

But I’m also not one to notice the nutmeg and apricot notes in my whiskey or wine….

I'm going to explain it like experiencing natural wonders. Like Yosemite, Yellowstone, giant redwoods, Niagra Falls, total solar eclipses, Grand Canyon, etc. (Some of these are not as nice as the others, but you get the idea I'm going for. Not trying to start another debate.)

Sure, pictures of them on the Internet look nice, and everyone says how great they are. But you can never fully experience it, unless you see it for yourself.
Once you do, you'll either understand, or just shrug and say I still don't see the appeal.
Because there are some people who just don't care. And that's ok too.

Leaded chips are one of those things you have to try for yourself to see if you like it or not.
 
Paulson has changed their "formula" several times over the years. The HARRAH'S CASINO chips are still really heavy compared to the chips they produce now. They may have some lead in them, depending on what year they were produced. Leaded chips feel soft and have a lower muffled sound to them. Not as clicky sounding. They also feel less slippery compared to modern chips. They stack like bricks. While the chips are all in great shape, the HARRAH'S CASINO chips are in slightly better condition. Edges slightly sharper and the hot stamps are a little shinier.
