Do you think casinos will be more open to chip harvesting once they are allowed to open just to help get a little more cash flow? Or will the tougher casinos continue to make it difficult. I understand that any casinos with fracs will still watch those chips carefully but I wonder if the other chips will allowed to walk out.
And which casinos would be your first opportunity?
If I was able I would probably approach the cage at Caesar's and pick up as many $2 chips as I could.

It will be business as usual. The casinos that are easiest to harvest in will still be easiest and the more difficult will still be difficult.
If the casino has a card room, go harvest as much as you like.

It depends on how you harvest and how much you want to harvest. A lot of casinos won't want you walking out the door with a rack of something, but if you just want to harvest a sample pack you can do that a lot easier.

But why? Any chips that exit a casino are a lot less likely to be cashed in, so that’s a win for the casino, right?

Security - even chips with RFID in them can be cloned by motivated people with technological know how. But buying one chip from this table, and a different chip from another table, you can get a nice sample pack. Expensive way to get it, but it does work.

Basically it's against the law, at least in Nevada. Chips and tokens are property of the licensee (casino). They are to be use only for gaming, with specific exceptions. The casino is prohibited from redeeming chips that it believes were not acquired through gaming, with specific exceptions.

Post that links to Regs

Why does the gaming commission care? Anti-money laundering is most likely.

Thanks! Never knew that perspective.

I really do hope it will be business as usual too @Lil Tuna. But I also wonder if this pandemic will cause more casinos in the future to go the same route as Circus Circus Reno and opt to replace live table games with all electronic games :(? https://apnews.com/085b213e6520547991c3c8ed96b22a51

The gambling experience at a casino would never be the same... I'd quit going if casinos got rids of their chips. Probably just be betting online at that point.

I’m with you. I spent much of my teenage years playing video games in arcades. I wouldn’t waste my time going to a casino to basically have the same experience.

Won't happen in my opinion. Not unless the popularity of the games (poker, bj, baccarat) just plummet after boomers check out. I would stay home and play on the PC, it's a far more comfortable and inexpensive experience.
