We’ve been getting ready for Halloween, and have a family theme ready... thought people could post their costumes/ideas here.

The last few years, our martial arts school (which is enormous) has a “trunk or treat” event, where folks park in the school’s back closed off lot, dress up their cars and hand out candy to the kids. We typically get like 70 cars. The school name is Moh’s Martial Arts, so we’ve incorporated the schools name into all our themes... the first year we did “Moh-bile Dojo” and we turned our car into an interactive martial Arts dojo. Then last year we did a Star Wars theme, the “Moh-lenium Falcon” and turned the tailgate into the millennium falcon cockpit. I’ll post some pics of the previous year for perspective. They award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, $100 up top. It gets competitive.

This year, we are doing a “MohTown” theme, and will dress up the car like a “Soul Train” set, along with my DJ speakers, night club lighting, and possibly a disco ball. We will have funk and Motown music blasting away.

Here’s our costumes for this year.

We actually put a 55” plasma in the back of the car to produce the star field effect of hyperspace in the cockpit. It was awesome at night.

Lookin’ good - nice work! I love it.

Lol, posted for week and ZERO costumes...

For the record, the disco ball was spinning (motorized) , and we got our “funk” on...

But, but....the gamblers want to know how you placed!

My costume this year is going to be “Dad.” The PD wants as many reserve/part time guys they can on Halloween to flood the streets with cruisers. I told them I’m out for at least the next 10 years, about the time the youngest will be getting too old. The chief responded by saying he’d write me up if I change my mind and set foot on the grounds. (y)(y)

The oldest is five and at the age where it is second only to Christmas in terms of holidays. We have an awesome street with many kids in the age group so I anticipate a lot of open containers and good conversation had by all.

Madison has Freakfest... it was last night... back 10+ years ago, it was a major riot event 2003 through 2006 ...it was bad business. It wasn’t unheard of to have 200,000 people attending... last nights event was lame, with only 16,000 people.. but I’ll take that over the riots.

Here’s a video of some of what we went through. Scroll through to the second half of the video, when you actually see the fires, and the mass crowds.. now imagine that we were sent walking through that crowd. Over and over again.. Just crazy!

Being on state street for these events had its pluses... the first half of the night, we were walking up and down the streets, taking photos with people, giving high fives, checking out all the crazy costumes... man, some elaborate work went into some of those costumes...

Not Halloween but one of my life long best friends turns the big 40 this weekend. For her 35th she wanted a fairy party... I went as tinkerbell... yeah, Tinkerbell... don't ask.

This year she wants an 80s theme, well with Tinkerbell I hand months to plan, I only found out about this one last week and waited until today to get to work on the costume. Halloween stores are all cleared out so this is what I came up with

(Selfie sent to Brie after purchase) I was born in the 80s, other than pictures online, she told me lots of neon colors. I hope that's good enough! Lol

I wanted to do a Jean Jacket but $30 for something I will literally throw in the trash, and the sneakers should be white... but I don't wear white sneakers ever... so that's about the best I could do

Quietest night in years. All the big groups went to the other side of the street. Probably because of my soulless, humorless, bitch ass Scrooge of a neighbor’s house of absolute darkness. Progress happens one death at a time is all I have to say.

The kids who did come to my house got handfuls of candy. The ones who got scared shitless by my jumping spider got double lol.

Thought I would add my costume to this thread. This was my Teddy KGB outfit complete with a rack of Oreo's at our poker tournament this past weekend. I grew my hair and beard out for about a month and a half then shaved the top of my head for the balding look.
