There's really no advantage to it since CPC doesn't do volume discounts like ASM used to.
 
Aren't they doing a discount for the hot stamped tourney group buy?

AFIAK it's limited to the dies involved - I think they're eating some portion of that cost. The cost of the chips themselves remains unchanged.

Regardless of whether CPC is giving a discount, a group buy is still a reasonable way to go for hotstamped sets. Lets say you only want a set of 500 chips at roughly $1 ea. If you want 4 denoms, it's entirely possible that the cost of your set just doubled - $100 for each die, plus setup fees, plus payment fees, etc. Doing hotstamps as a group buy can greatly help to minimize the per-chip cost increase that the hotstamping confers upon a set.

The trick, of course, is settling on something that everyone can agree to.

Gotcha. Agree that spreading the cost of the dies makes sense. Agreeing on a name...not easy. :)

Yeah the other GB was slow to start until @David O took the reins and pushed it along. I imagine someone else will step up eventually to get this rolling :)

Chocolate and black are kind of close. Maybe light chocolate?

Bright white comes with an additional fifty cent charge

I'd love a hot stamp cash set. That would be my fourth cash set. Unless I was to win big in the next few games I won't be participating. That, or I'd have to sell the Samurai Palace set (which I don't want to do). I'd have to back out of @stocky GOCC Iron bank set (which I don't want to do), or I would have to sell my Casino Royale tourney set.

Why a $10 chip? I doubt many games would use it. Maybe a $2 would make more sense for some limit games.
 
With spots and an appropriate name I'm in for 500+
