Hi everyone! I found this forum when I was looking for information on how to build a poker table. It's always dangerous for me to learn about a community of internet people who go DEEP on a subject. The eye roll from my wife when I showed her what I'd been reading about the past week was epic.
I had totally forgotten, but I actually ordered a set of "custom" chips when I was in college. I can't be certain, but I think I got them from CPC or their predecessor in 2002. Maybe you all can help me identify them. They look like the Roman (weave) mold. I was replacing the red white and blue plastic drug store chips we were using at the time, and I knew nothing about standard casino colors. There is no inlay, I'm sure because we were saving money for beer (don't ask why we needed clay chips). They must of been around 50c a chip at the time, or I couldn't have afforded them. I see there's been some inflation.... I didn't know anything about denominations then either, I got 167 of each color, so not the most functional set. I'm sure we did something silly like 25c, 50c, $1.
Anyway, this forum is way more dangerous now that I have disposable income. Of course, I also have a skeptical wife, so maybe a wash?
In terms of the table I hope to build at some point, I currently own no tools besides a screwdriver and a hammer, I have no experience working with wood, and have no place to put a table. But I've always wanted to make one. Lots of interesting ideas out there. Looking forward to picking your brains.
