Here are the Grand Vics that many folks have been waiting for.

Did I miss the details somewhere? What is the breakdown? Pricing? I may be in for a lottery spot.

Doh! Never mind. I should wait for the page to load completely before posting I guess. :)

Since we don't leave until tomorrow...nah.

Had we known how things were going to go down prior to the Outpost shenanigans, I'd have put in a healthy bid for the entire GV lot.

But now I'll just say GLWS...

After giving it some thought last night, please go ahead and withdraw me from the raffle for this one. Between the set I already bought and the other raffle (fingers crossed on that one), I need to keep things somewhat in check.

If there will be any extra GV $25's left over I would like a chance at them.

Thanks Pat

That it does! Wonder if the other chips will get kept as sets or if he'll break it all up and sell the remainders as racks?

too late for me if someone want to sapre some 1 5 25 or 100 i'm interested a trade with 1k may be possible

Well when you sell 30k chips in 3 days your bound to get a lot of PMs. Yours was missed. I appologize for that. However, we weren't interested in breaking the sets per your request.

To all the people that were questioning why we didn't have a lottery...

We had 1 person who wanted a set by the time we were going to draw. So we didn't bother with the drawing.

HQ and Danny ran this buy with efficiency and integrity. Unfortunately when you become overwhelmed with deals and messages someone got missed. I still would like to congratulate both of them on this sale.

I do not see the interest in a chip geek community to sell a proffessional who wants to make only a profit on it ....instead to benefit the community.
that's just my opinion.

@Apache prices are true market prices. He wanted all of them, but I worked with Danny to make sure that PCF had a shot at these. The group buy prices reflects the discount that was being offered up to this forum.

It would have been much easier to deal with one purchase, but Danny hooked everyone up. Had it just been a "for sale" post, every one of these sets would be going to Apache and everyone would be paying retail.

Even though you may have missed out, you still have the opportunity to score a set. If you want them, buy them. We'll be back in the Mint Paulson drought after these few sets are gone.

Apache has done a lot for the chip community in the decade I've been seriously collecting chips. He is a retailer. This is his business model. He is also a sponsor and one of the few sources for new people getting into the hobby to actually score sets.

Our hobby needs professionals, and there are less and less of them still operating.

I understand what you're saying and fully agree with the sentiment of doing what's best for the chipping community, but there four sets available and only two people spoke up showing interest. If Josh didn't buy the other two, it's possible that the chips wouldn't have sold at all which means neither the chippers nor Josh/Apache would benefit.

Besides that, Josh is a sponsor of this site. If Apache does well, then we do well. And Josh has taken good care of the community. I have no problem supporting him or his interests, because his interests frequently feed our interests.

Finally, if GPI is ever going to get back into the home market again, Josh is likely going to be involved with that effort.

In short, while I generally agree with your opinion and respect it, I think making an exception for Josh/Apache is very worthwhile.

Thats really a double edge sword... There have probably been far more instances of the Chip geek community buying from a professional (Apache or Chip Room) at a discounted price, and then flipping them to the community for a substantial mark up.

Totally agree with what you're saying Psypher. To expand on your points even more,

Bentax dropped out a few posts down into this thread so I was the only one that said I wanted a set when the drawing was active. Josh stepped up and grabbed a set or two too to help make this happen. Had he not like Pyspher was saying no one would have gotten a set. Anyone could have requested a set when the drawing was active but no one else spoke up and said they wanted a set.

If a person wanted a set they should have entered into the drawing instead of complaining a week later that one of the sites sponsors stepped up and got a set. Josh is not flipping it for a huge profit by any means and he has a business to run and overhead and I for one am happy to have an active professional on this board that actually participates and works with the community to bring new chips to market like the Majestics etc.

Just my .02

Not only ^ has this guy done a whole lot for the community with some of his GB offerings but also always acted as a gentleman in responding to some very, very questionable, and unfair, criticism (imo, of course)... I have a lot to learn from you man, like keeping your cool at all times... Bravo!
