Gorilla Gaming table...first thoughts (1 Viewer)

@megarises how much does the table weigh? Does it take more than 2 people to move it? Have you tried to navigate up and down stairs with it yet? That's the 85" not the 96" right?

It’s super light probably weighs between 60-70 pounds. I haven’t had to move it around any stairs or anything. Probably need two people to move it strictly based on its length (85) but weight won’t be an issue.

I got the 96. It’s light, but definitely a 2 man job so you don’t scuff up your baby on walls etc.

Just received my Gorilla Table today. Rhode Island to Washington State and still in 1 piece. Even the packing is heavy duty stuff, can’t wait to play on it...

Hi - Very nice table OP. Wanted to see how it was holding up after a year, considering one. Thanks

How is receiving the table from the shipping company? My experience with the shipper from BBO was so bad I won’t order from them again even though I really like the table I got from them.

I notice GG has a $75 lift gate fee to get the table off the truck and onto the ground, seems a bit absurd. As bad as the truck driver was for BBO there was no extra fee for him to not only use his lift gate but to use a power lift to bring the table into my garage.

I had no issues with the shipping, well packaged and driver carted it right into my garage with a pellet Jack. It was free shipping when I bought.

BBO is obviously a competitor of ours, but don't hold a bad truck driver experience against BBO or any poker table company, that is something so far out of our control. I can say from many years shipping, there is no dominantly good or bad freight company. It depends on way too many factors we simply can't control. We are all only one bad truck driver or one bad forklift driver away from a bad customer experience... it is the most frustrating part of what we do!

The lift gate fee is what trucking charge us to do this and we just pass the fee onward, if you want the service, or save the money and as a friend to help unload! You can luck out in some areas and get a truck with a lift gate, but the only way to guarantee it, is for us to pay for it while booking the shipment. I agree... shipping and freight fees are high and getting even higher and getting less organized with the pandemic and enormous increases in freight shipping this past year.

I would happily pay for it, $75 is reasonable to move the table into the garage. To only bring it off the truck? Not so much.

Ive ordered several tables from Gorilla Gaming. I get the lift gate every single time... so worth it. The trucks that deliver are like 4ft off the ground. I think it would take 4 people to get it off the truck without a lift gate.

And there it is,

I ordered from GG and got lucky on the shipping guys. I had a smaller table, so only had myself and one other to move it off the truck, but had a 3rd on "standby" in case the 2 of us couldn't handle it. I did not get the lift service.

Turned out the truck driver was super-nice, friendly, and professional. He had a motorized lift on the back, and a "pallet jack" thingy, with which to wheel it into the garage. We def. lucked out as it happened to be pouring rain! Poor guy got soaked doing it, but kept a smile and was very professional. I offered him a water after the job but he turned it down...I think he just wanted to get out of there, or maybe had more deliveries to make.

I guess it's a YMMV/luck of the draw deal, unless you fork over the extra cash.

So with all the talk about shipping costs how much would one save if you could pick up at location? I live like 40 mins from Warwick, RI. Just curious.

Hey Kingrich33, How does the felt play? Do the cards glide nicely?

This thread (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/gorilla-gaming-poker-table.9897/) posted earlier above with "khaki gaming suede" seemed to have some trouble with it and they had switched to speed cloth.

Also, how does the rail feel? Thoughts on if it would be worth it to upgrade the materials used for the rail?

Hi DisneyDoc,
This post you linked to was 7 year ago, we have certainly come a long way since then :). We stopped using that manufacturer when we started doing our own custom prints, dye our own cloth, and we have even spent a ton of R&D on exciting new materials to help us compete for business in the casinos... we are always tweaking and improving things as well on all our products! All our cloths glide well, but if you want a very fast glide we do have that capability just please specify that to us via email is best when you make the order. You can just reply to the order confirmation.

Happy Friday, I do love my table but looking back I wish I would have went with the Suited Speed cloth. I also have a Barrington table and I upgraded the surface to the SSC and the cards glide effortlessly on it. With the Gorilla custom cloth not so much. My friend’s all like the SSC as well. As far as the rest of the table I LOVE it, very sturdy. Hope this helps…

We have 3 different types of cloth so if the customer has a very specific need we can do a faster glide cloth. The standard one is just the most popular option with our casino customers so we use that as the standard to keep options down and also it keeps pricing down.
