I don’t have any immediate relatives but my wife’s grandfather was killed in combat in the Korea War. Three years ago I wrote an article about him. The deaths of young men and women in war leaves scars that last for generations. Remembering their sacrifices is important. Hopefully in the future we will not see such losses.
