Just finished undergrad and moved 800 miles away from home (and knew no one). What to do...go on a solo casino hopping trip from Tunica down to Natchez.
Just one of the many chips collected on the trip.

You couldn't go wrong with Nexgen for a custom chip. Man we had some fun tournaments with these. My avatar is a pic of my next set which was Nevada Jack Skulls that I got from completing deposit bonus after bonus from random online card rooms. I still have this table. :)

Those tables were like $99 at KW Surplus. I didn't get it but regretted soon after because I became a heavy player on Hollywood Poker. Is that where you got yours?

After I bought my craps table and was on the hunt for cheap chips. I was in Vegas and saw these 1’s that looked newer than all the rest and was like if I slip these a couple at a time, the best ones. It’s only one dollar a chip! (I guess you call it “harvesting” as I have read this week) And that’s when it all started.....

Went on a long journey (metaphorically) to find out what a “real” poker chip was. Knew I’d held them in Vegas but nothing else I could find was close. One day I searched poker chips on eBay, sorted by highest price, and discovered the brand that supplies the chips to 80% of casinos worldwide. Paulson. A “real” chip is a Paulson! After that it was easy. I found that even after buying the perfect chipset I still enjoyed looking/discovering/shopping for chips. :)
First set: Palais des Congress purchased from Nevada Jacks dot net.
Note: these chips are long gone and I own no PdC chips

Happy Birthday! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

Well, for me, there were 2 sets that I purchased at the same time..

First, CPC Rounders. I initially bought 700 of these, but now up to 940. Still my first true clay poker set.

Second, I also made an entry into Paulsons. The Pharaoh's did it for me. Made me fall for Paulsons, HARD! I even sold my first set of Pharaoh's, only to regret it so bad, I had to replace them with this set I have now...

I got it from eBay for around that amount. I bought it and the seller didn't respond for weeks so I ended up tracking the seller down using some questionable methods and talked to him over the phone. IIIRC, he told me that he bought a warehouse and had a bunch of these tables in it. Nice feller.

This got me started. I said to myself, "I'll never spend a dollar a chip. These work fine." Never been more wrong in my life.

It's not where you start, it's where you finish.

Famous first words of MANY new chippers, I'm sure of it.

I definitely posted something like this.

"$1/chip?!".... "ridiculous"..."can't afford it"..."China clays will be fine" etc....

And ya, DEAD WRONG!!!!
I was definitely one of them. Bought my Nevada Jack Ceramics and thought I’d be just fine...dead wrong! Lol love this hobby though, my wife sure doesn’t but hey she will get over it!

In! Need some some colors for my 8v set! Loved them when I first got on here and was only able to get some racks in these colors for ABC. Recently picked up a rack of black 8Vs too

I came across this too late for the giveaway, but I still want to share in the fun!

Showdowns brought me to PCF, in a way. I bought these as an upgrade from dice chips. As soon as I pulled them out of the box, I was disappointed by the colors. They looked so much more colorful on the internet. I used them in a few games but I wasn’t ever really happy with them.

So I thought I’d see if I could move them, and buy something I would like more. Having been very involved in guitar gear forums, I typed “poker chip forum”, and came across PCF. Didn’t take me long to realize there’s not a huge market for them here. :)

Here’s a screenshot of my FB Marketplace ad.
